The donations actually go to improving/maintaining the church, for feeding programs and payment for the organization of church events. Priests get stipends from a branch of the church every month for necessities, but most of their actual dough comes from side jobs like teaching theology in colleges ONLY if it does not interfere with their obligations to the church.
