A bdp10a438 pump. cylinder block is flat and smooth on top. will that cause a pressure lost in the pump. should it have a raised portion that rides against the value plate that creates more pressure? would a smooth surface on the block against the value plate cause leakage?

What is the highest viscosity fluid axial piston pump can move? Is it possible to use axial piston pump as a diesel transfer pump? (using clutch as on/off control) I understand axial piston is intend to pump R-134a and R-12. With proper care and alteration.......is it possible to pump diesel fuel?

What keeps the the cylinder "ride heads" in contact with the swashplate? The fluid pressure on the return?

the cylinder block turns on a shaft with forces the pistons to go around the swashplate. because the slope of the swashplate the piston move up and down. it pulls in and pushes ou tliquid

also other than what i just posted i see no reason why the pump would not drive the wheel motor.First time into a pump and trying to learn as much about it as possible. I have firguired out the process of how it works just not sure how things should look from a new pump point of veiw..
