It's amazing watching a stock rig on your course struggle so much. We are so use to these completely modified rigs taking on these obstacles with ease. It's refreshing.

You could do two different avenues when it comes to the electronics, see what you can get away with for cheap then do a more expensive/best option, that way we can see if the more expensive is worth it. That would be super helpful as I hate spending more than needed for upgrades. I have the green version and agree the stock electronics are just not enough for upgrades though, stock they’re fine with the super light and tiny wheels but weight and bigger wheels really make it struggle.

the first rock ledge on old florida road is no joke. my first experience on old florida road was my friend knew about it, so after we went wheeling in my jeep with a group, we went and checked it out..... in the middle of winter, at 2pm........ just me and my friend in the middle of winter in my jku on 37's. the road was ALL ice at the time. took us about 4 hours i think to get through it that night. had to use my winch and a snatch block to get a couple trees out of the way. was one of the most fun times i ever had wheeling my wrangler. strangely, it seemed harder the following times i went on that road in the summer!

Like the gray wheels. I have the green JLU V3, Injora brass/black wheels, steering links brass, honey badger servo, komodo/stellar motor trans combo, lizard v2, Spektrum receiver, brass front diff, 43mm shocks strapped front. Flipped front bumper. Performance is just ridiculous. Even stock it was great, a few basic upgrades and it dominates.

Signed up :) I am also a fan of SCX 24, I have a Deadbolt at the stage of global modernization. Great video, as always, thanks a lot! I think it might be worth starting by replacing the regular 88T motor with something more powerful, such as the Injora 50T. And see how the regular ESC will cope with this motor. I'm waiting for new videos! :)

Looking forward to following the build! Really cool to see what a rig can do with basic upgrades. Little sad to see that Axial/Horizon has lost some ground in the 24th scale scene with continuing to use sub-par electronics. A bigger motor and better servo would cost very minimal to the company yet yield large benefits.

At 12:25 does having to change out stearing hardware when u put on brass knuckles happen a lot with most all builds? Either way mind making a short followup showing how you did this on this build to clarify how it's done? Impressed it has tilts almost as good as your teal pickup build with so little done.

Bronze wheels or black would look good. Also swap out the SLT2 transmitter for your AX24 SLT3 transmitter. There's more adjustments on the SLT3. I swapped to the SLT3 and added a MOFO Torque Beast 050 motor with a 14t pinion gear. The SLT3 upgrade helped a ton.

This looks awesome! Id say you got me into scx24ˋ but it was the other way around! I saw berm peaks video on why to get a 1/24 as a first crawler instead of a 1/10. so i got myself a scx24 gladiator and cuz i am the way i am i binge all the content on a subject if ive found it. And you were standing out of the bunch with your then already awesome videos (thta was like 1year ago, little more i think) and i stuck around. Lost interest half a year ago, completely forgot about the car sitting with a broken emax in my shelf. Got back in, part cuz of you, but im glad im back. ❤ love your channel and am hyped for the refreshed gladiator if youve got something coming on that soon, who knows. ❤❤❤ from your fellow crawling enthusiast :) Ps: idek why i wrote this, but felt like a channel revision to me. In the intro, I see that your yellow JLU has an ecopower 827. Is that a decent budget servo? I bought one, but was going to return it after another review that I saw. Was maybe going to spend 30-40 on a servo. I have the newer white gladiator scx24 and the only mods so far are wheels and tires. The wheels are all brass injora wheels. I also bought the 50mm Proline Big Bore shocks, but I am going to return those because I don't think they'll fit the scx24 evenly on front to back. Thanks in advance!

Both aren't needed, the extensions come with a longer bolt to go into the wheel instead of over the front. I just got them for my bronco. May need to drill the center bore of the wheel hub to fit the longer bolt. I did on my RC4wd stamped steel wheels

I have a concern regarding version 1, version 2 and version 3, which was the last one they released, each of them has different electronics. Version 1 The touch is not as progressive but the receiver compensates for it, especially by having a second channel where without need to change control or other components can be converted to a brushless motor, easily and economically, then version two brings different electronics where the feel is better compared to accelerating the vehicle is more progressive but lacks channel 2 if you want to modify The electronics require changing all the components which greatly limits it. The control is digital, particularly I don't know how accurate or convenient it is. My main question is related to the latest version 3, which again changes the electronics to a spectrum and changes the control. Can you please tell me if this electronic also has channel 2 as well as version 1? Can this version number 3 also install a brushless motor on channel 2 without having to change the remote control and other electronic electronics? I am undecided between version 1 and version number 3, the last one that Axial released in its SCX 24 versions. Thank you very much for your suggestions.

Anyone had any issues with the small pins when chanhing steering knuckles? I have a v3 grey jlu just as pictured, but both sides, the pins are stuck TIGHT, i couldnt get them to budge anything. Injora sent me over a free hex extension/black brass knuckle kit, and I went to take the stock knuckles off and those pins feel like they are bloody cemented in place. Only thing i was going to try next is to heat the ball and pin, see if they separate.. any advice?
