Tekin Electronics are renowned for their use in everything from backyard bashers to world class professional racers. The Axial Yeti was needing some extra power, torque and control from a sensored system, so the Tekin RX8 Gen2 speed control and the Tekin Pro4HD brushless motor were the perfect fit! I opted for the 3000kv motor for this build being run mostly on 3s Lipo.
Check out The RCNetwork on Facebook for detailed photos and other content you won't find on G+ or KZbin:

I hate to be that guy that asks for running footage or what song. All I ask is that when you do running footage please include some sort of track footage. Looking Beautiful Rich. I am full of envy!!!
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 9 жыл бұрын
Thanks Thomas! Yeah, I get lots of requests on both sides of the fence on music during running footage. For race inspried vehicles, I usually don't include music vs the RTR's I do..........but I haven't decided yet on the Yeti!

I don't either however I often seem to find that one tiny puddle of water unseen from a distance hidden by grass or leaves and blaze rite through it I run TEKIN in my e revo also rx8 and 2250 kV so all I can say is thank god for my shroud

Thank you for your reply. Just to make sure I have the right set-up, I plan to use a Tekin rx8 Gen 2 with a 3000kv motor and a 15 t pinion. Should I gear down to a 12 or 13 with the 3000kv or is 15 good? Thanks Rich, love all the info in the videos.
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 9 жыл бұрын
Dave Savage You got it! The 3000kv is nice on a 15t pinion. Plenty of speed and torque on a decent 3s Lipo

I pretty much trust your knowledge on RCs so I've made the same purchase. same motor, same ESC, same servo (my Yeti has been getting a lot of good comments) Q1: do you run with the PAD device that came with the servo? If so, then which slot in the reciever do you use? Q2: What do you use for radio/ receiver?
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 8 жыл бұрын
Yes, I run the Pad device, although I don't think the RX8 Gen2 needs it. The Pad device can plug into any open port including the bind port (if applicable). For this truck, I use my old Spektrum DX3r-Pro. But any good radio system will work

great build reviews RCNETWork!!! purchased a tekin pro4 hd 3500 kv for my yeti on the website they mark it as 2s but can you run it with 3s ? or wil this damage the motor?
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 8 жыл бұрын
+Wayfarer9000 It could....Tekin says 2s only on the 3500....That's mostly why I ran a 3000kv. You will probably be okay if you gear very low and watch those temps.

Can you recommend a Team Orion set-up that would work good in this particular car?
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 9 жыл бұрын
+Dave Savage I just ordered in the new R8.1 Speedo. They do have 550 sized motors, but only one is a 4pole motor at 4000kv. Might be too fast (too much heat) for a Yeti. You can't go wrong with the Tekin stuff. It's tried and proven in the Yeti!

Would the pro4hd 3500kv motor work good in the yeti or not as looking at upgrading
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 9 жыл бұрын
Kain Chiverton The 3000kv is optimal on 3s....The 3500 will run hot on 3s and be a bit slow on 2s

Is the pro4 a 1/8 scale motor? I seen the rx8 was.
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 9 жыл бұрын
+Chris Seese The Pro4HD is a 1/10th scale motor, 550 sized can (Pretty much the largest for a 1/10th scale) The RX8 Gen 2 is very well pared for the Pro4HD

is this or can this setup be waterproofed?
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 9 жыл бұрын
duramarks It is not waterproof, nor would any of Tekin's warranty cover if you did waterproof the ESC/Motor. There are video our there on how to.......but I would recommend it. It would be at your own risk. With my RC's running in or around water is never a need

Where did you run the antenna for the receiver?
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 8 жыл бұрын
It's wrapped around the post that holds the ESC up on the platform
@messenjah71
@messenjah71 8 жыл бұрын
The RCNetwork so you drilled a small hole in the receiver casing?
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 8 жыл бұрын
There's an access point in the receiver box to allow wires to exit. Then just straight up and wrapped around the rod

Does it have a low voltage cut off
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 7 жыл бұрын
1fastregal yes, of course. It's a premium ESC - it's factory set at 3.2v I believe and is further programmable via Hotwire

I'm new to this lipo re stuff I have the rx8 gen 2 and I guess I ran my battery to low on voltage I'm running an 5s 30c 5000 mah do u have an suggestion on what to set the cut off on
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 7 жыл бұрын
If the cells are still good, I would keep it at 3.2v per cell. Make sure to balance charge every time - especially with a larger pack like the 5s
