If I was to head to "my first axialfest to rock crawl" and saw decorative river rocks the size of a softball dumped in the woods, I'd be pretty upset. the people that go yearly just to hang out, I see your point. It's a "high school reunion" feeling catching up.

I just wanted one rock garden.. I didn't bring super swampers for the dust bowl. It was as disappointing as the reliability of my Wraith on 3S. . They need to have locals come and make it nice. People that went last year said it was 10x as better. I do like my Basecamp 👍.

I know nothing of that area, and while I understand there are many consideration that go into planning a location for such an event, I was sort of surprised to see such an absence of natural rock formations. I have a particular dislike for rip-rap. Looks like a nice natural course nonetheless, considering the natural terrain they were working with anyway....

This was my first Axialfest, flew in from Texas. We have a pretty dedicated local group that builds and maintains woodland trails. I guess I was hoping for some more variety in terrain. I'm glad I bailed early on Saturday to drive the terrain around Loon Lake. I'll try a different event next year. Lots of people from Axialfest we're also out at the Rubicon trail head, maybe they could have organized a shuttle to host at least one event there.

I am kind of surprised that with all of the natural terrain available in just a short drive from Sacramento that they picked a site that was so underwhelming and used so many artificial arrangements. On the Good side it shows that with some hard work it might be possible to at least simulate an event like this in the dirt pan I live on. I would have to guess the primary concern was for having a venue that was accessible and easier for vendors and participants to move around in, and that can't be an easy ask !

Great video Josh! I think the venue was great, the trails are very well laid out. AxialFest is not strictly a rock crawling event, Axial build’s many different vehicles for many different types of RC enthusiast. I built a “trail truck” (sorry Josh) for this year and had a fun time with it on the courses. All my other rigs are crawlers and like others have said just a few miles up the road you have The Rubicon Trail. The Robb’s Resort staff were fantastic and very appreciative of the Axial fans in attendance. I would not be a bit surprised if the owners of Robb’s didn’t build a rock course somewhere on the grounds for future events. Heck, we even watched Flying Cars one night with a few others.

Just wondering is the only music available for KZbin nowadays the heavy bass and clap track, seriously that's all I hear on you tube videos these days Josh just some form of bass and a clap track. Its getting hard to watch anything these days because of that. Don't believe me take a listen to almost ANY rc car or otherwise related video and its the type of sound track that is copied everywhere and its getting really tiering to listen to. Im a person who doesn't have a problem letting a content creator know when something is not right, problem it would seem that everyone is afraid to speak their minds on such topics then the video creators think all is well in la la land so nothing changes. Imagine only being able to listen to one style of music for the rest of your life, that's what you tube is getting like with all this heavy bass/clap/stomp crap "music" in every video. If ya dont agree with me that's fine but at least im not afraid to let folks know. Music has been around for a very very long time, surely one can find something else other than this brain dead stuff, I found tons of good music in just a few min's of searching and copyright free as well. I couldn't comment on the video Josh because as soon as the noise started to play I had to turn away, surely im not the only one who feels this way.

Tells everybody on his KZbin channel to make sure that they drive a "Axial" branded vehicle at "Axial" fest because thats what makes sense but continues to Drive his Ripper made by Vanquish through the whole field of courses... 😅
@HarleyDesignsInc2 жыл бұрын
That’s because the Ripper is just the “body” basically. It used axial frame rails, axial style transmission, axial style axles. It perfectly fits their rules, even when they were much more strict. I don’t bend their rules in any way, it’s their event and I think people should follow it.
