@@paramaguru7935 in the real line Q compliment has countably many holes given by Q for which you can not connect the whole set.but in the case of 2dimensional space you may move vertically(not only horizontally as 1 dim) also or in other words you may use the 2 dim space.That's why you can manage yourself to connect the product set .Think or sketch the picture in your mind.
