Thanks for the video. I was a graphic designer on this and this project has been YEARS in the making. It is wonderful to finally see this project getting into peoples' hands. As cool as it was to work on, I can't wait to see people get to PLAY with it!

Everything is in the box compared to other grand strategic WW2 games: post WW1 and interwar events (DoD), named Ships and detailed air assets, Fortunes of War to add a bit of random events. All of them are modular and can be added independently, 500 cards to pick strategies and warplans for the core games, rule books which benefit from many years of testing and gaming and are now very clear. Tutorial scenarios to learn the game step by step. Oh, Austro-Hungarian units... Possibilities are endless! Steven, brilliant review of an awesome game.

I already own TK and DS, and haven’t managed to get them to the table, so I’m going to slap down my greedy desire to buy this for now.

Big thanks for an unboxing, I'm still undecided on this one - it's a huge package and I really like the idea behind card-assisted mechanisms and between SK and Dice of Decision it sounds like a system that explores "what if" in depth. But the price tag on this is really steep across the pond :(

I like both AE and AWAW. The unit production system and the map of WiF just put me off.

The WIF production model and map are highlights for me. Production is directly impacted by what areas have been taken by the enemy and the map manages to really hit home the strategic importance of certain areas. I am cautious of AE's tying production to the cards but I suppose it is a different juice from that squeeze.

I still stare at this game on my “to be opened” shelf. It looks truly beautiful. While from a different designer (Joseph Miranda) I’ve always been a fan of “Storm of Steel” also from Decision Games. I’m truly excited for the “Dice of Decision” since again I enjoy the impact of WW1 on interbellum and WW2 events.

Still waiting for my copy to arrive. Have been tracking the development of this game since 2020! After looking at your video, my mouth is watering for this one even more. Looks like a Hearts Of Iron on a tabletop with the DoD module. This could be Decision Games' masterpiece! They took their time on this game. Please do a solo gameplay of maybe of one of the easier scenarios! Maybe Case White (Poland) on the TK Board!

Good video, Steve. Certainly a lot of material here both for gaming enjoyment and video content. I think many counter clipping devices are technically called rounders and are usually used on metal, so I'm pretty sure their use on cardboard won't have an effect. I will get my forearm bandage out in case it rears up any carpal tunnel syndrome issues. Thinking I may put my previous version materials in other storage and use those boxes for storing counters and other misc. materials that accumulate.

Looks a nice product. I have played the previous two games but I found a knowledge of the cards was needed. I played some options that changed the war in a way I wasnt expecting and not to my liking. It was too heavily card driven for my tastes but I was playing solo.

I figure you can get 4, maybe 5, standard trays in the box with all the other stuff. We'll see if I can get this whole thing in that many trays.

Some thoughts: 1. The components really do look good. From what I can see on the screen, they have done a fine job with graphic design in all elements of the game. 2. The system for generating different starting positions looks like it could be a lot of fun. In addition to what you mentioned, you could also have one person generate the starting positions non-randomly and give the other player the choice of which side to play. 3. The fact that there were earlier iterations of the game is a big positive for me. It suggests that the basic mechanisms should be pretty solid. 4. There's no guarantee that the Schiffkrieg module will work as intended. This is my biggest reason for taking a wait and see approach on the game. I'm OK with giving up the pre-order discount to see how the reaction to the game is from people who've had a chance to play it, and maybe waiting to see if there will be a second edition. 5. I doubt that any of the grand strategic WW2 games get China right, mostly because the designers lack the background and knowledge for it. This means that they don't get Japan right either. I'm not holding my breath for someone to come along and fix this though. 6. The occasional swipes at AWAW in the video came across to me as gratuitous, and I say that as someone who played it for a number of years before quitting it. That's just my two cents. It's your channel, this is my comment space, we're all exercising our free speech, so it's all good.
