hey, i have another scenario that could have changed the war and the whole UC timeline... "what if Char killed Sayla/Artesia?" it is possible during the battle which Lalah Sune got killed by Amuro. either from Char slower reaction or the gelgoog unable to respond to char input. initial repercussion would be Char withdrawing from the remaining battle, Lalah sune would be alive... and Amuro turning into an extreme prejudiced warrior of vengeance (sayla did help to keep amuro on the straight..albeit in weird ways) and since char wasnt there to kill Kycillia at A BaoaQu, the fighting dragged out to Granada and Side 3. Char would return in such a battle in the only Perfect Zeong(other 2 abandoned at A Baoaqu or strip for parts to complete the zeong) thing is Amuro would be in G3 while Kai also plunging into the frontline using the RX--78--2(sayla death also affected Kai). in this battle, Lalah wouldnt be able to reach Amuro mind, until she too gets killed. char escapes but would only return as Casval in UC 0093 (not as Newtype preacher... but as Wipe-humanity-out Terrorist) after the OYW, Amuro joins hunting zeon remnants while Kai joins coverts ops. Hayato does settle down with Fraw being the least affected by Sayla. close to 0083, Amuro does take up being an instructor. and after operation stardust, Amuro joins the titans and gets a Rx78-T(titans Rx-78)... probably stationed on the Albion leading a GM Quel team. as for events during 0087-0088, im still figuring that out.. since this "sayla died" scenario popped into my head yesterday when youtube recommended me another AMV of Beyond the time

@@jrickducking6685 tbh he kind of had an unjustified bad rap as a pilot. As a commander, I never thought him as much, but as far as piloting goes, it was obvious midway through the series that he was at least the Titans third best pilot. Hell, as far as piloting feats go, you could argue that his are better than Scirocco’s, mostly because Scirocco really doesn’t do much in the series. I think his bad rap is mostly chalked up to the New Translation movies, which omit a great deal of his combat scenes, and the fact that he’s something of a meme character in the Gundam fandom Consider this. The old nes/snes Super Robot Wars games had him pegged as a bigger threat on the battlefield than likes of Rakan, Mashmyre, Chara, and Ple Two whenever the Titans and Axis teamed up in those games. The only enemy pilots that would have better stats than him would be Yazan, Haman, and Scirocco in those levels. Ever since the NT movies, his stats in video games have been reevaluated to be just above average

Have to say we should be seeing more Alex-inspired fallout in this series. Probably in earlier parts, but the Alex survived the OYW unlike the RX78, so it could have been used post-war in several ways. It would now be a proven war machine instead of just a testbed prototype, and the MkII and other successor units may have been slightly better as a result. It might have had a place on that Thoroughbred, or could have been in a museum where Karaba had the chance of having a new figurehead machine. Of course, there's always Sayla lurking in the background waiting to make her move.

The Mark-V was originally being developed for the Titans, and was then being shipped over to the AEUG in space after the Earth Federation abandoned the Titans, which doesn’t happen in this scenario, also meaning that the Pezun Titans never get their hands on it. And that’s woefully underestimating Jerid. If the likes of Emma and Elle can Pilot the Mk-II just fine, then Jerid can more than handle it. He’s significantly better than both of them. You’re talking about a rookie Jerid from the first few episodes who crashed because he attempted to show off. Jerid from episode 21 onwards pilots Mobile suits superior to the Mk-II, and was easily able to defeat Emma in a 1v2 battle against her and Kamille

For those who don't know, after Amuro's performance in the war, the Federation came to fear newtypes, in general, *(which is very hypocritical in the long run for more reasons than just one)* and put Amuro under house arrest for the *entire* 7 years between the original series and Zeta. Meaning that unlike Char (who at least got to interact with and talk to other people during all that time), Amuro was left with nothing and no one to help him deal with his trauma. No friends, no therapy, no counseling, nothing. And it wasn't until Kamille and the others came along, that he finally started to recover.

I'm surprised you didn't use the MK-3, it should hae been developed by that time and it didn't seem like (in source material) the Titans took the MK-3 seriously as a replacement for the ace-type units. Also, this might be a fun time to bring in Ford Romfellow (as he'd be a former Titan at that time) and possibily Miyu Takizawa as she was an instructor at this time as well. Notes aside, this was a great video and I love this series of "what if" scenarios.

I just recently came across your channel. After watching just a dozen or so videos, I am already amazed by the amount and the depth of your knowledge of the Gundam universe. But, of course, since you seem to have an excellent grasp of the source material, you probably don't need to be reminded. Without Char, AE would have never gotten Gundarium Gumma from Axis, so there wouldn't have been RMS-099 Gumma Gundam, a.k.a. Rick Dias. And we can forget about all the rest of the 2nd generation MS and, of course, all the transformable MS. The regular EF forces might be using RGM-79R/179. Some elite units might have converted to RMS-106 though. Titans would have moved on to RMS-154 much sooner but using Gundarium Alpha. AUEG/Karaba would have stayed with RGM-79R/179 and fielded some MSA-003 with its elite units because it would be too expensive to build many using Gundarium Alpha. Looking forward to the next episode.

I still do think you're giving Jerid way to much credit as a commander. I like that you suggest he relies on his subordinates a lot more but I just don't think he ever showed any real grasp of tactics or grand strategy. I feel he'd be a figurehead as much as the proposed reinstatement of the 13th autonomous corps would be a symbol. And that Jerid would only be the public face, with a cabal of people actually making the real decisions behind the scenes. That said, I do really like where you're going with this story with Amuro and 13th. I don't see Amuro remaining loyal propaganda piece for very long. Especially if Jerid orders him to attack Karaba at some point and he runs into Hayato. Also, I think it would be interesting to find a way for Sayla and Kai to play a role in this story, if you could work it in. I could see either or both of them having been working loosely as spies for the AEUG or Karaba or both and they could be used by Hayato or Bright to contact Amuro.

I picture it more like Char and his position in the AEUG, where Char is technically the commander in chief of the AEUG after the death Henken, but Bright is the one actually calling the tactical shots and people like Wong Lee take care of the politics. I imagine for Jerid, he’d have people like Gady Kinsey and Kacricon take care of tactical decision for him. He’s more of “hands on” type person, unlike Scirocco and Haman
