Is the Axis 700 UTV one of the best or worst buys out there in the side by side market? We have a little over 60 hours on our 2020 Axis 700 UTV. Priced significantly below other comparable models out there, it begs the question...is it junk? Reliable? Spoiler alert...it's a beast and has run flawlessly thus far. The Axis 700 has been a great addition to the farm and we use it just about every day.

I have the Hisun 500, its been great for the 2 years I've owned it. I have almost 200 hrs on mine with zero problems.

Yea me too! The only problem I had was I let the gas run out (gas gauge could use improvement) and it wound up being VERY hard to start. I thought I'd never get the thing started again! I normally don't run low on gas even in my vehicles because I know that isn't good on the fuel pumps but the gas gauge is definitely hard to read and doesn't seem to be very accurate.

My Blue Axis 700 is everything you can imagine. Here @5,000’ NC mountains it does everything perfect as a workhorse and goes 45 mph on pavement, pulls 1,000 lbs logs, carries 300 lbs loads and climbs like a goat It’s not a speed Elon like RZR nor a basic Kaw Mule….. it’s a great blend and no issues If you can find one, get it

I agree/ they are solid little machines that will do a ton of work around the farm/property! They are a great bargain I think for what you get. Thanks for watching!

I’ve had mine for about 2 months now. And about 1500 miles on it. No major issues yet.

They're hard to get serviced, so youd better be mechanically inclined. The 700 2 seaters are hard to find. Parts are easily available, but dealers won't work on them. Just know that they're made in China, and China's quality control is not a top priority. For a budget buggy they are pretty hard to beat though.

I'm fortunate that we have a full hisun dealer and service/parts department not 20 minutes from my house should I ever need anything. So far no issues though.

There not made in China. They are built in Texas at Hisun Motors. They build there own engine

Wait until you get some real miles on it before you brag it up lol. They are not terrible but they have lots of little issues and some big ones like timing chains failing. It’s all the little things you don’t see that fail. Every person I see that does a review says how great they are but they don’t have many miles on them. Wait until it hits 12-1500 miles then that should be a good test to see if it’ll hold up. The good thing is you can get quite a few parts from the Yamaha 660 Rhino that will bolt on. Like I say, it’s all the little things that you don’t see like the tolerances and the type of metal they use. I bought mine at 500 miles and it was completely falling apart however it was an older 2008 model year. They are cheaper to buy than the big brand names but they are also harder to sell when you go to get rid of it and mist shops won’t work on them not because they don’t know how but because they install brand new Hisun parts and often those will fail then the customers come back looking for warranty when it wasn’t the mechanics fault it was the junk parts they build over there.

Valid point but it seems the other major brands all have their own issues at higher miles as well. I am very fortunate to have a Hisun dealer not 20 minutes from my place with a full parts and service department for Hisun UTV's but so far haven't needed anything from them. :) Thanks for watching!

Timing chain on mine broke at 200 miles because camshaft decompression thing broke they fixed it under warranty but took almost 6months if I had to pay it would cost a few grand .

@homeplaceadventures true the big brands have their own problems with high miles but that’s just at these have problems with low miles usually. Lots of the stuff people don’t even notice like loose wheelbearings or loose tolerances things like your mufflers falling apart. You’ll see it’ll all eventually just fall apart on you. And they are most certainly not built in the same factories lol not even close . Having said that, I absolutely love mine and I keep doing improvements to it. It looks like crap right now but mechanically decent. One thing you never talked about and you probably didn’t notice or don’t even know about but when you went down that hill at the beginning of the video, I noticed you had no engine braking whatsoever. That is common on these. Eventually that Bc Bearing will fail and destroy your motor if you don’t fix it. The one-way Bearing has already failed at under 400 miles. This is the stuff I’m trying to tell you about lol. Anyway, if you want to make that thing, much more enjoyable to drive and a lot better on your brakes and a lot safer, you’re going to have to pull it apart and get yourself a Yamaha 660 rhino one way bearing right from Yamaha. None of the aftermarket Chinese junk just go and spend the extra money and get the good Yamaha part. Trust me you’ll thank me for it later. You’re going to love it. Mine used to free wheel going down hills like that I tried three aftermarket bearings. None of them worked, so I put the Yamaha one in and it’s absolutely flawless. I hardly have to touch the brakes coming down hills now. While you’re in there, you can also do some modifications to the clutches and the wet clutch, which will just add durability and make it much more lower geared for around your property doing yardwork and stuff .

Basically a yamaha rhino clone .. how are part availability ?

Yes very similar! The motor is made by hisun motors. Parts are readily available online and I am lucky enough to have a very good hisun motors ATV dealer/service shop just 20 minutes up the road from me so parts are easy to come by though honestly I’ve not needed anything for it whatsoever ever thus far.

Anyone know who to take off the speed limiter/governor? Or is it just a simple unplug?
@homeplaceadventures
@homeplaceadventures 10 ай бұрын
Are you talking about the seatbelt speed limiter whereby it won’t go full speed without the seatbelt plugged in? Mine is unplugged and no speed governor tied the seatbelt. It’s located under the seats. It was like that when I bought it. Seatbelts keep us safe so always wear your seatbelt. :)
