If you plan putting large tires on your Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator, then its very important to look into axle shaft upgrades!
This is the final video of the Stock Axle Upgrade video series. I have showed you how to install gears, diff covers, a truss, C gussets, lower control arm skids, and now... a set of heavy duty axle shafts. This is a perfect setup to run some large tires, and hit the trails confidently knowing that your Jeep is ready to handle the abuse!
In this video, i am installing a set of RCV Performance 2 Piece front axle shafts, and a set of Yukon Gear and Axle rear chromoly shafts.
Both axle sets are made of a super strong chromoly steel, this is a major upgrade compared to the factory axle strength.
The front RCVs offer a ton of benefits, not only are they fully warrantied up to a 43" tire, but the CV style joint will allow full strength during turns. This style joint also operates very smoothly when your tires are turned in 4wd.
On the JL and JT, the factory axle shaft is comprised of 2 pieces due to the FAD system. RCV offers both a 2 piece and a 1 piece shaft depending on your needs. Feel free to learn more below:

Thanks for watching, and i hope you enjoyed this mini series of how to upgrade your stock axles.
Remember, these upgrades are not just for the "rock crawler". These are important upgrades for any Jeep owner with larger tires, whether you enjoy cruising the trails, or even overlanding. Large tires take a toll on stock components, so its important to upgrade before you find yourself stuck and broken down in the woods!
