Started as an Axminster Tuner at John Thornton in St Helens in 1972 ( it was a dying trade then ) and have been working in the industry to this day ! I have actualy worked in that factory installing a Rapier drive to a Crabtree Broad Loom

Nice! Got my start in plastics in the textiles industry. The Chinese tried to take us out like they did with the garment industry, but American ingenuity and quality kept it from happening.

Amazing. Now I can appreciate how expensive certain carpets like Axminster are. One day, when I'm finally in my 'forever' home, I'll be happy to invest in Axminster carpets.

I live in Philly I have been installing for 25 years. I know there is a jump up in price when installing woven carpets. I charge 4.75 a yard to start plus extras for standard carpet. What is a good price to charge for woven. I am also good at installing it. I'm hearing all different prices some real high. What do you think is a good price to charge.

Amazing! I was a broadloom operator in the 1980's in Victoria Australia. Did Axeminster have any sanctioned partners here. We had a huge maker called Westminster. This changed to Minster in the 1970's I believe. I worked for a much smaller concern! I'd love to know the history of the name change of an iconic building and employer in my home town of Dandenong. Thanks for this great video.

MD TANVIR FAISAL , Yes, but like to know about ‘FAIRTRADE’ pay whether they subscribe to it. Jute plantation and processing is very hard work and can be physical health hazard from snakes & leeches.

This was fun to watch, but idk why so many of these rugs are so ugly. Im having a hard time finding one that I like. They’re so gaudy or too ornate. I was just curious how they make a carpet love the video though.
