Oof not the best idea- most fish are only compatible with certain other species and witj axlotls they have a chance of not only cannibalism but major stress aswell. Edit: she only had like three tanks lol and she probs used them for other animals or sold them when she was done.

While it is reccomended to give axies a tank 20 gal or bigger, they can actually live a pretty happy life in 10 gallons. I brought my axolotl with me to college, and my school only allows 10 gallon tanks. So she lives in a 10 gallon for part of the year while I'm there, and a 20 gallon when I am home. She is perfectly content as long as she can swim around and is well fed

Just another piece of advice, a lot of the caves look like they are a little pointy. Axolotls don't have very thick or tough skin, it's frigile, so points, rough surfaces, or sharp edges could hurt it badly Edit: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE just stop commenting on here. I don't use any pebbles or anything my axolotls can swallow. Mine had nothing in his tank but every time I change his tank my mom adds a stress coat that helps them de-strees.

Yes you definitely should put a lid on. I have read stores where axolotls have jumped out and died from drying out. Mine has no problem with the lid and when I feed to feed him I just lift the lid and afterward put it back on
