I've never seen such an honest and heartwrenching depiction of what it is like to be a young black man on the streets of Los Angeles. Some might find the surrealist scenes of dark humour and satire to be "exploitative" or "in bad taste", but I consider them to be a painful and necessary reminder that there is no safety for these persecuted people. They, like the protagonist of the piece, Carl Johnson, have a perpetual "wanted rating", doomed to be forever hounded by a relentless police pursuit that cares nothing for whether they are actually guilty. The chaos on the streets is a thinly veiled allegory for the all too real danger faced day to day by this maligned portion of our population, whose lives can be cut short during the most simple of tasks, such as a trip home. Though it is certainly underrated, I truly believe that this is one of the most important shitposts of the decade.
