Love my O2M - felt like it was the handheld that really called me and it quickly replaced my Odin due to pocketability. Form factor and performance was an easy choice against the RP5, which I didn’t like the design of at all, unfortunately. By the way, it might be worth contacting AYN staff from the discord as well, as it can make the issues surface more clearly too

Fair warning, if you have a problem with your screen/digitizer/etc., it might not be a case of them wanting you to ship it back and shipping it back to you. They might insist on sending you a screen, expecting you to replace it yourself.

People don't talk about AYN support enough. People on reddit and discord will tell you the CEO name, get you in touch with someone but I had issues with my Odin 1 Base that I was pretty much out $300 for, and can only be used when docked. After spending shipping for parts multiple times and having to send the same video of my broken device I still haven't gotten resolution, and they wouldn't even give me a full quote of what the repair would be more so how much it cost to get it there and THEN they'd say how much to get the device. Worked for a few months, loved It during that time but for people who aren't as good as tinkering such as myself the customer support is a huger barrier of entry I don't see talked about enough.

I bought a Odin 2 Pro (It has some weird performance problems, GPU at 100% use) and it's been 45 days from my initial request for a replacement and so far the "technician" is still looking at the logs of my device.

I’ve had every Ayn handheld. I had a power button issue with my Odin 2 Pro, they sent me a shipping label and the day it got scanned to ship they 3 day shipped me a brand new replacement. I had the new handheld before my old handheld had even left the US

@ love it man. Coming from someone who was looking for an upgrade to a vita slim, the screen looks phenomenal for me. It was be nice if it was a little bigger but I love the overall size of the mini

Hi, I just received the Anbernic 406H - will you be reviewing it? You’re the only one testing handhelds with AR glasses. Unfortunately, my Xreal Air 2 won’t display anything from the 406H. I was hoping it had the exact same hardware as the 406V :(
@TechSpaceCowboyАй бұрын
AR glasses? Negative I film on an iPhone. But I might… considering it.

I'm another unlucky dude, mine has some performance problems and I had been asking for a replacement. So far, they are still looking at my device logs. (45 days btw)

Yikes that sucks man. I hope you get some sort of compensation for that

you should get a port hub that uses 10gbps with an hdmi port, usbc/a port, and a power delivery port of at least 100w. i use the caldigit soho dock. combine that with a controller that has 2000hz polling rate dongle. its chef's kiss bro. the controller i use is the flydigi apex 4 (black myth wukong version). imagine playing those rainbow 6 mobile or cod warzone but everything is in easy mode lol ive tried the ayn super dock and it wasnt worth it since it only uses 5gbps. meaning youll see so much input lag that its not even worth playing on the big screen.

This sounds like wayyyy overkill, but I’ll get back to that after I try out using the jump gate I just bought

It's a cool device but $400 is really not worth it just to play mostly PS2 games, imo. Might as well get a Retroid Pocket 4 or 5 for half the cost or less. If you ask me, unless you have a lot of disposable income you should never pay more than $200 for a retro emulation handheld because they lose value so fast, due to the sheer amount of them coming out, and there's no real brand loyalty / fandom with them. People don't care about owning every Anbernic or Retroid or AYN like they do with Nintendo handhelds. As soon as something better comes around, which can happen in weeks, the previous model is undesirable. Also at $400, well, I've seen many used Steam Deck OLEDs for that price on FB Marketplace and have even purchased them cheaper. So there's that whole beast to consider. Btw it's good to see you back! Or hear you back. I get it though. People be crazy out here.
@koldwolfАй бұрын
Great comment, it grounded me because I do really want one over the retroid pocket 5. The analog stick is mostly the reason and I want to play some switch games. But i won't be having long play sessions so I realistically I should be sensible and go for the pocket 5
@pixelmentiaАй бұрын
@@koldwolf Glad I could help!
@DeshanNaidooАй бұрын
Dude! Solid comment, and I totally agree. Anything over $200ish dollars is excessive. Unless u want to emulate, switch, which is still in its infancy at the moment. RP5 is basically the best device. Great screen, enough power for up to PS2 and some light switch games. These Ayn devices are really nice, but if it is the same price as a 512gb Steam Deck on FB Marketplace, it doesn't make sense at all!
@pixelmentiaАй бұрын
@@DeshanNaidoo Right on. I would buy the hell out of the RP5 if it didn't have the AMOLED screen. For some reason those bug my eyes out. Regular OLED is great though. But yeah, it seems like an amazing value.
