Just visited Ayreon live a few weeks ago. This is so awesome. 25 main singers on a three story high podium with this awesome band and all the accompanying effects. I think it is the most internationally orientated musical event on the planet. 50 nationalities in the audience the evening I was there. People fly the globe just to witness this. And for good reasons. It was an event I will never forget. Mindblowing!!!

This great banger of a song is totally owned by Maggy and the "backup singers" (who are in fact superb lead vocalists, all 3 of them). Maggy also considers this "her song", if only for getting the opportunity to "kick Damian's @ss" as she herself said. The Ayreon Angels (ltr:), Irene Jansen, Lisette van den Berg and leading lady Marcela Bovio really lift this song tt next level. So looking fwd to the gig in September this year. Was lucky enough to get my hands on a ticket. All shows sold-out within minutes. To get into the mood, I will upload a video called "Ayreon's Angels take the lead", because I consider them to be Arjen's most formidable secret (not so secret) weapon, besides the F-bomb of course. Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘 P.s.: Have I recommended "The Two Gates" yet? Same concert from 2017, with Floor's sister Irene masterfully introducing the band, topped off by Jaycee and espec. Damian Wilson going all out to a fantastic pulsating beat. One of my favourites from this concert.

Hey man, great and fun reaction. The idea of Ayreon is that they only have a few selected live events every 2 years or so to perform the songs live, because it is logistically and financially impossible to tour with all these top level instrumentalists and singers, who all have their own bands and full agenda's. So it is always a bit of a surprise who sings on which song, because the original singer from the studio version is not always available on the specific date(s) of the live events. But that only makes it more fun and surprising... A few ideas for other great lives are: - Theory of everything (live, Universe) with Michael Mills and Marcella Bovio - Star of Sirrah (Live, Universe) with, amongst others, Floor Jansen - Loser (fun!) - Cosmic fusion Live with Simone Simons and Marc Jansen of Epica - Amazing Flight (Electric castle live and other tales) - Valley of the Queens with Floor Jansen, Marcella Bovio and Anneke van Giersbergen - And the druids turned to stone - etc. - etc. - etc.

Hey just a note I really enjoy for the most part your reaction videos, I mostly watch the Nightwish reactions except for the woman who keeps wanting to hate on little emppou one of only two founding Nightwish band members left,you should check out scaretale or rest calm or even the beautiful meadows of heaven or decades in the sun,now on to ayreon what a great effort from arjen and while floor isn't in this video her sister Irene is one of arjens Angels singing back up vocals. I have fallen in love with ayreon and the guest vocalists he brings on board like hansi of blind guardian a great German metal band with an awesome song the Lord of the rings, he's the one singing with Marko on age of shadows as well as river of time. Biography Peter Vink Peter Vink, born in 1949, adds a load of experience to Knight Area. Already at young age occupied with making music, he achieved great successes with various bands. He obtained the degree “pop music teacher” at the Rotterdam Conservatory and became music history and pop music teacher at the Fontys College in Tilburg. Peter is also producer/studio engineer and teaches bass guitar. Peter’s musical career starts in 1960 with North Stars and continues in 1965 with Q65. Both bands achieve great success. Several songs, among them “The Life I Live”, remained in the charts for weeks. The band lead a restless life, but nevertheless sold out frequently. As of 1969, Peter plays for three years with the formation Big Wheels, and manages to reach the charts also with this group. In 1974, Peter becomes one of the co-founders of Finch. Also this formation achieves successes, both with record sales and live concerts. Finch has a brief successor with Livin’ Blues. In 1982, Peter starts a new band with Mirjam van Doorn: The Boxx. The single “I Need A Love” becomes a big hit and band plays with Joe Cocker, Meatloaf and Vandenberg. After nearly 10 years, Peter commits himself to the tribute band The Renegades. The band doesn’t last long and with some other people he starts the band Veralin. With this band he releases one album, at which Arjan Lucassen plays the guitar parts. After having been briefly active with Omsk, Peter is asked to join Arjan Lucassen’s Star One as bass player. With this band he tours the whole of Europe, and Peter cooperates on a total of 5 albums by Ayreon and Star One. After a short period in Thin Lizzy Tribute Band (2005) and HDK (2007), Peter joins Knight Area in January 2013. Peter’s gear: Hevos and Sansamp, ADA , Moog Minitaur, Yamaha, Mike Lull, Fender basses.

Man, Russel Allen is just SO much better than Maggy, she brings the song way down compared to him. If you wanna see the better live version of this song, do the version from the Star One Live on Earth concert.
