Ayreon is a musical project by Dutch songwriter, singer, musician and record producer Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Ayreon's music is described as progressive rock, progressive metal and power metal sometimes combined with genres such as folk, electronica, experimental and classical music. The majority of Ayreon's albums are dubbed "rock operas" because the albums contain complex storylines featuring a host of characters, usually with each one being represented by a unique vocalist. Each Ayreon album tells a different story, but all, with the exceptions of Actual Fantasy, The Theory of Everything, and Transitus, take place in the same fictional, science fiction universe; additionally, Lucassen's solo album Lost in the New Real is also set in the Ayreon universe. Ayreon's music is characterized by the use of traditional instruments in rock music mixed with instruments more native to folk and classical music. Lucassen writes the music and the lyrics, sings and plays most of the instruments on all of the Ayreon albums, alongside many guest musicians. His most regular collaborator is drummer Ed Warby. Currently the live shows are events so lots of production. Everybody Dies will of course be recommended. But I enjoy his Blake's 7 Intergalactic Space Crusaders from the same show. As far as Floor goes she has been working with Arjen longer than with Nightwish and she and her sister are consistent members of his crew as are several others.

Listening to early Ayreon albums, the multitude of singers have led me to the discovery of other great artists/bands that I still enjoy today - I found After Forever through Floor, Symphony X through Russel Allen, Epica through Simone etc etc - in fact, back in December, I had the privilege of finally experiencing Russel Allen live on stage with the Trans Siberian Orchestra

Michael mills character is TH-1 An android The part he sings those binary 10001's translate to Trust TH-1 Arjen is amazing and has worked with many poppular and famous local and nearby local talent but has also worked with some other famous people from as fas as America from lead a singer from Halloween to one from Ironmaiden and lead singer from Twisted Sister also guitarists like Joe Satriani and Steve vai just to give you an indicator the sort of talent he has worked with. Most his albums are concept or story albums and his stage shows are a bit like metal musicals. Arjen is responsible to intruducing me to new musicians enjoy.

Ayreon is another MASSIVE rabbit hole ! It's a mark of the tremendous respect in which Arjen is held by his fellow musicians that he is able to call on such a wide range of them for his projects ( and there are a lot of projects ) . Those that appeared in this track aren't some " second string " rabble but some of the most famous names in contemporary rock , metal and even classical music . You should check out some of the live performances from the Tilburg concerts - I think you'll enjoy them especially because those appearing had so much fun ! Michael Mills from Toehider is the robot Th-1 - therefore he sings in binary!! It days 'trust th1' ( th1 means toehider 1) 😂. Arjen has been working with over 100 of the top of the top of musicians and singers from all over the world - like Floor since year 2000!! - and Floor's sister Irene some years later. Many of the people here like Joest Van den Broek, Simone Simons and Russell Allen, have all worked with each other doing duets or writing songs together

To me the most impressive musical part was Michael Mills. To multi track vocals of that precision is a work of genius! Other highlights include the vocals of Tommy Karevic and Arjen’s guitar solos. And of course the goddess herself, Floor Jansen! The whole thing was an absolute gem that I never tire of listening to.
