French Ambassador Francois Adolphe de Bourqueney noted that sultan Abdul Mejid i of Ottoman Empire who had been away on his trip to Rumelia was interrupted suddenly and had to return urgently to console one of his wives Nukhetseza Hanim who just had an unhappy child birth like Farya sultan in this series 🇹🇷!

I liked Farya so much, she had a good soul, she was smart powerful in battle but they did her dirty
@daniellelawman972429 күн бұрын
A good soul? What good soul waltzes right in and tries stealing a man away from his family so shamelessly? What good soul tells her friend that it's not her fault her sister committed suicide at her wedding in front of everyone because she deliberately stole her sisters man - a man she knew would never love her and told her so afterwards? Her words helped the woman deny any responsibility for her sisters death!

Correct me if i’am wrong but Farya is a fictional character right??? She never really existed in the Ottoman times.
@ashtoneva4926 Жыл бұрын
Yes, she is a fictional character. Whether she was inspired by someone else, I can't answer that. Murad did have other consists besides Ayse.
@sedaavsar1330 Жыл бұрын
Yes Farya was completely fictional but according to the harem notebooks what were written during Sultan Murad's reign he did have a second Haseki Sultan next to Ayse Sultan but the name of this second haseki will always stay a mystery because her name wasn't written in the harem notebooks like how Ayse's name was because Ayse was written as Haseki Ayse Sultan in the harem notebooks while this second haseki what Sultan Murad had was only written as Haseki Sultan into the harem notebooks a name was never written next to it so nobody knows what the name of the second Haseki could've been and that's how Farya came into the picture when they were making Magnificent Century:Kösem.Since nobody knows the name of the second haseki,the writers of the show just created a random character who could fill in the role of the second haseki what Sultan Murad had but other than that Farya never existed in real life
@LeviAckerman-f9b Жыл бұрын
@@sedaavsar1330so is the backstory of that haseki sultan and farya same?
@sedaavsar1330 Жыл бұрын
@LeviAckerman-nz7cp Nope,because in the series Farya is a princess a free woman who later became a sultana but Sultan Murad's second Haseki was a concubine like Ayse,it wasn't a thing in the ottoman empire to bring in foreign princesses into the harem because in order to bring a free woman into the harem the sultan would need to marry that woman and in the ottoman empire marriages weren't that common,it was after Sultan Suleiman that sultan's started to marry their favorites because Sultan Suleiman changed the law by marrying Hurrem allow Sultan's in the future to marry the woman who they loved.But as I said Farya was completely fictional and her story isn't real all,it just came in handy that basically not too much was known about Sultan Murad's second haseki because like this the show writers had an easier time with creating farya's character

This drama makes Islamic polygyny look horrible. The Old Testament includes polygyny and concubinage, but it seemed to have died out by time of the later prophets, who railed on against unrestricted “fornication” and adultery. Seems later Jews and Christians saw this as not worth the family conflict.

Good grief. Why all this emphasis on getting pregnant all the time? It’s a good thing not to have a ton of kids around. You can persue your own interests and build your own life.

You cannot look at those times as those, then for a woman, in a country ruled by men like Turkey, the only role of a woman was to bear children, and preferably sons so that the Sultan had as many descendants as possible. Therefore, every pregnancy was enjoyed, and miscarriages were very much.
