Gooseworx teases that Gummigoo might return in a future episode of The Amazing Digital Circus

Did you know this in the amazing digital circus?
In episode 2 one of the fan favourite characters was undoubtedly gummi goo who tragically perished at the end of the episode because of caine.
Over on twitter gooseworx teased that gummi goo might make a return.
One fan asked what the purpose was for killing off Gumigoo? Goose replies “teh lulz”
In a second reply she says Don't worry, there will be something for Gummigoo fans eventually.😉
In the episode ragatha also mentioned that caine could possible bring gummi back.
With these combined there’s definitely a chance that goose will bring gummi goo back in a future episode, especially seeing how the fans reacted to him.
On the other hand goose could be pulling a prank on everyone, and they’ll mention him in a one off segment or give pomni his hat or something, and he won’t actually come back.
Personally i hope they bring gummi goo back. As funny as his death was, i think he’d be a great addition to the main cast once he gets acquainted to the circus.

Ya thats the part they don't bring up. Cane doesn't have to reuse everything about gummigoo. For all we know, he resets Gummi or just reuses the model and not the ai. With the themes around the show, I actually feel like that's a very likely outcome

Also the point of his death is pretty obvious. It’s done to show Pomni that she does matter to everyone in the Circus. When Gummigoo dies, yeah it sucks and everyone does seem sad about it (though I imagine everyone except Pomni is moreso sad for her then Gummigoo himself.) but they move on fairly quickly. Which is exactly how Pomni thinks they’ll react when she dies/abstracts. However during Kaufmo’s funeral, it’s shown to her that they do in fact care. And that she isn’t actually alone in this world. That she isn’t surrounded by people who don’t care about her existence or feelings at all, but rather surrounded by friends who want to see her hold on and survive. Going out on a limb here to take a guess that she’ll probably be interacting with the main cast a lot more in future episodes after this. Since she has a motive to do so now.

My prediction is that Gummigoo Is going to come back as an NPC in a future campaign, but since it'll be a different iteration, he won't remember Pomni or anything, and Pomni will have some narratively satisfying existential anguish.

As a person who has been in Cain’s position I have to agree that you can’t have npcs mix in with people. Not even 1 as this becomes a slippery slope. Cain was in the right but he didn’t handle it the best. I made that mistake and in the end needed to do a full system restart that took fricken YEARS to recover from.

I have a rare condition called DID. it’s a dissociative disorder that causes altered stares of identity (or other personalities) When I was a tween, NPCs were introduced in my system for alters to interact with. But we lost track of who was an alter and who was an imaginary friend. See, the NPCs act like alters but are not real. They cannot front and act based on scripts assigned to them. They don’t represent a part of me and the villains started actually traumatizing real alters. I had to purge the system and separate the humans from the npcs. It was intense and I was dissociated for years. Well… I say “I” like I had a choice. The system is run by my subconscious. Once it realized it lost track of who were malicious alters and who was scripted villainy, it did a full reset. You can’t reason or heal an NPC. They just do as scripted. But you can reason with an alter who’s having a rough time of it.

Gummi's death definitely made me think about Caine differently. He definitely feels less lovable goofball, but i guess that's what you get with a show of this genre. Also, I'm sure there will be rioting in the streets if they play Gummigoo's return as a joke. You can't just create a scrungly scrimbo and expect people to not get violently attached.

I feel like even if Gummigoo was to be brought back, it wouldn’t be the same one the experienced a trauma inducing realization and would be reset back to normal. Caine has control over what the NPC’s think and do and he definitely saw the interaction between Pomni and Gummigoo.
