This playlist is still a fantastic study guide/aid for Az-140. Very nice Dean!

well explained Dean. I spent a lot of time of testing at the beginning about doubles rights ( NTFS + Azure RBAC)

With Terraform, it would be easy to create mini labs to understand AVD concepts (e.g. create pool breadth-first, app group, etc) and then delete everything using Terraform to avoid any high costs. What do you think about that?
@AzureAcademy Жыл бұрын
Yes it is…but Terraform is not on the AZ-140 exam ☺️ in general I would use ARM or Bicep over Terraform…because I don’t work in multiple clouds on a regular basis. If you do, then it is a good skill to learn

Great content as always. Just a suggestion using more light source especially around back might help you more with green screen. 🙂
@AzureAcademy3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion... however that isn’t the issue. The problem is that I don’t have a green screen...I am using NVIDIA Broadcast software to artificially remove my background... giving me an artificial green screen. But the small room I am in as well as the light bouncing off my wall behind me causing the artifacts. I need a real green screen with proper lighting.

My bad. 🙂 Keep up the good work.

WVD intermittent disconnect troubleshooting using log analytics workspace, event logs, network trace, WVD URL check. Not sure if this will be very long topic to cover or out of scope. (Not part of 140 video series)

Thanks for the interesting thought Nitin...I will look into it...stay tuned!

@@AzureAcademy This is primarily the challenge I face with WVD and my clients as well. I've deployed a WVD workload at about 25 customer locations so far. 1 of them experiencing disconnects frequently, and 2 others periodically. The insights log the disconnect as "SL_ERR_InvalidPacketFormat" and it's logged against the RD Gateway. This error occurred more frequently in users who used the MS Store RD App compared to the RD thick client. /shrug

He Dean, I have a question MSIX. I am coming from an enterprise environment standpoint similar to you training scenario. We have a lot of complex business apps which require some back end infrastructure (client / Server). Do you think MSIX app attach can handle it? In a lot of videos I see a ton of simple apps like browser, small tools, but I am missing the bigger one. For an example, would you put O365 in a msix to have different bit versions available? What is your Experience?
@AzureAcademy3 жыл бұрын
In particular Office is one of the largest software packages...like ever! There are billions of lines of code...and to my knowledge, has not been fully successfully packaged as an MSIX application. however, I have seen/done a lot of very large apps like AutoCad, SolidWorks, Destiny 2 Gears of war 5, visual Studio (but not a full install) Adobe Premiere. The question of MSIX with a backend server depends on how those 2 things interact. If the MSIX App is accessing things on the server or inputing data, no issues. However if the server also needs to make changes in settings or config of the MSIX app...then App Attach won't work...because you only get read access to the app. but if you are just using MSIX, and NOT AppAttach...then it would work...because standard MSIX apps can be written to. Hope that helps!

Hey Dean thx for the vid :-) BTW, did you get your Beta exam result? Still waiting ( 3 weeks), does anyone else is still waiting? And yes, very intrested in MSIX Packaging etc, espacially which sort of Apllication can i really get to work. I think this is the big time you invest in project WVD -> get all the Apps the USer need up and running.

I have not gotten the results. 😤🥺😢😭 Thanks Andy!

Azure Virtual Desktop does nothing special or magical to windows that would make a normal activation process different. I would check with the software vendor for assistance

@@AzureAcademy software which I tried is enterprise architect version 15.2. if you can share email id I can send the video of the issue
@AzureAcademy3 жыл бұрын
If this isn’t a windows or Azure issue…I would not be able to help. Find out from the vender what the activation process needs to work…you may have to open a port to the internet.
