The Azad Pattan New Road and Bridge is a major infrastructure project in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. The project, which was launched in 2016, aims to construct a new 100-kilometer-long road and a bridge over the Jhelum River. The new road will connect the town of Azad Pattan with the rest of the country, and the bridge will provide a vital link between the two banks of the river.
The project is being funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Pakistan. The ADB is providing a loan of $150 million, and the Government of Pakistan is providing a grant of $50 million. The construction of the road and bridge is being carried out by a consortium of Chinese and Pakistani companies.
The project is expected to be completed in 2023. Once completed, the new road and bridge will significantly improve the connectivity and access to Azad Pattan. The project is also expected to boost economic development in the region.
