Hate that Ray passed away. This character was instantly iconic because of him. Hope they do him and Baylan justice moving forward without him.

Probably one of the greatest new villains in Star Wars. His method of fighting is similar to Vader’s, heavy and coordinated strikes to overpower their opponents. Ray played him so well, may he Rest in Peace

My favorite character in the series and I think one of my favorites that Disney has done with the franchise, Stevenson's performance is great, his dialogues are fantastic, his mysteries and points of view are very interesting, his battles are very good, and although I would have liked to see his flashbacks, I think the character can still give a lot of content, I just hope that what they do is on par with Stevenson and the character.

Really glad that we got the chance to see a villain like Baylan - he was instantly iconic because of Ray Stevenson's performace - may he rest in peace. It was an amazing, almost new feeling to wonder about a Star Wars villain; to be interested in them and, even if for only a moment, feel as if they might be a threat (though we know that will never be true under corporate Star Wars). His theme and presence were forboding and had me rooting for him every second of the way - the same as for Thrawn. I guess I just so badly wanted a story with stakes; for Star Wars to go back to a franchise where it is possible, and has happened before, where the villains win. It's a true shame we won't see Baylan as we know him ever again, and it's a true shame that we can't have stories where iconic characters can be at risk. Death and defeat cannot be assured when there is more product to be made. You may not have changed the course of Star Wars, but you have left a positive mark on all of us. Rest in Peace; Ray Stevenson

The main theme of Star Wars is not defeat, it is not despair, and death is not the end either, Star Wars has always been about one thing, HOPE. But I think that, in part, we need to see defeat, desperation, death and hopelessness, so that the feeling of hope is strong.

I mean, Disney made Rogue One. And the portrayal of the mundane elements of the Empire in Andor was a credible threat to be sure.

Love it! Simple, elegant yet dark and foreboding. Next to Vaders and The Emperor's theme's this is up there.

Rest In Peace Ray Stevens. His character, Baylan Skoll, was the best of the entire Asoka series. I am embarrassed to say that I did not know of him until I saw Asoka. His acting was the BEST of the entire series! I am a fan of him now.

Dooku had a problem with the Republic and Jedi. This guy looked further. He saw entire universe having a problem with falling Jedi along with evil empires again, again and again. The cycle which never ends, a pattern which never fades, the universe of infinite wonders always stuck in constant, maddening stasis.

The same thing happens, "over, and over, and over." Man Ray's delivery of that ONE line, is somehow one of THE BEST lines in all Star Wars. I put it up their with "I am your father". It is a great time to be a fan. I love all the new shows. Really everything except Ep 9. (old school fan, read all the books seen all animated stuff) Ray's delivery of "..over, and over" it was like the "circle of time" line from the bad guy in True Detective, Ray just sounded so.. weary of it all. So he was kind of halfway good guy/bad buy. It was very interesting to think what direction he was going. I agree I hope they do the character and plotline justice, for Ray.
