I've been to the Academy maaaany times. I've met so many wonderful people that want nothing but to share love and happiness and it really warms my heart when I hear people give a lot of praise to this world and the group. Living in Sweden where the system is quite slow for us transfolk (3+ years to even get a first meeting with the most funded gender clinic and then a loong time to recieve stuff like HRT), there isn't really much for us to do unless we go the route of DIYing hormones or use legal loopholes like GenderGP. For us who are stuck in the system, it is REALLY amazing that there is a space like this where we can just get to interract with others in similar situations and be ourselves. This world has become like a second home for me. I always feel safe when I'm in the Trans Academy and it has enabled me to put a smile on my face when there's been hard times. Thank you Tizzy, for creating such a wonderful space for so many of us to be able to just be ourselves and being a wonderful person. Thank you PHIA, for introducing me to this absolute wonderful space and being a really great person! Thank you Azeal, for making this video and spreading positive awareness to a group which absolutely need it. Thank you Staff Team, for being super quick to eject the trolls that occasionally enter with only malicious intentions. Thank you VRChat, for being the platform in which I've made so many great friends and long lasting memories! Thank you, all the friends I've made in the Trans Academy and in VRChat in general. Before I forget, I'm so sorry ya'll have had to listen to my shiddy Rift S Mic xD

Az and Tizzy are both amazing individuals. Before I started VRChat back during Christmas of 2021 I had very little interaction with trans people or trans issues, within the first week of starting VRChat I met one of my first best friends on VRChat who was trans and I learned a lot from her. I've met many beautiful trans people through the years on VRChat. I wasn't really sure at first if it would be okay for me, as cisgender, to join the Trans Academy, though I am glad I did and I am very thankful for all the beautiful people at the Academy, and I hope I can continue to assist in some way. I kind of have a bit of a saying myself where people should strive to spread love not hate, and there is so much love in the Trans Academy, and I hope it can be continue to be a beacon of love and hope for many people as we try to bring everyone together.

I wish I could be cis then my life would be easier but living with gender dyphoria is the worst.. gender dyphoria feels like you need to sneeze all the time and all over your body but you never do and the need to sneeze intensifies every now and then but transitioning wether socially or medically or both can make us finally sneeze after all this time...

@ronald2840 nothing really makes us trans except generally having the opposite sex brain from the body... it is a collection of errors we experienced in life that often leads us to being trans such as being paired up with one gendered group of kids to play a game and they don't feel comfortable with that group not because of the other kids in that group but that group they were put in the wrong group and that you feel sick if people call you based on their agab... nothing makes us trans we just discover we are and we can't control it.... fighting against will just make us feel sicker and sicker mentally overtime.... there is no need for Salvation for us we found it...we are born this way... regardless everyone sins everyday us being trans wouldn't be a big deal, God has to let sinners in heaven or else no one is getting to heaven... there is unforgivable sins which are much heavier than most sins which those sins are created equal but never the unforgivable sins. Jesus will open the doors to LGBTQ+ people...

@@wtfmoment4666 Except it doesn't work like that at all. E for one changes bone density on top of the fact that Sex in skeletons is already hard to determine especially if recovered after erosion has occurred. If they had a pristine skeleton they would likely know I was a trans woman and if they didn't they would just be assuming based off little indicators likely calling me a woman anyways considering E gives a lot of those skeletal indicators. And yeah no just saying your a girl does not make you a girl. Me saying I'm trans isn't what makes me trans? It's the gender dysphoria, the differing brain patterns and early post womb developments that make me trans. And nothing can change that even if I want it. Same as a cis person saying their trans doesn't just make them trans either. Dunno why you decided to just spout nonsensical arguments like this in the comment section.

10:05 oh that's very good to hear. There's a teacher at my school who's trans so it's nice to think that her simply being there might subtly help the next generation of kids be less hateful to the overall trans community. It helps even more that she's a great teacher that basically everyone respects, whereas if she was a jerk teacher it might have a worse effect simply due to guilt by association, so I'm glad that isn't the case

We also have a trans teacher and this is an area that is EXTREMELY homophobic. I can safely say that after them being up here for 3 years that the kids are a LOT less (openly) homophobic. Needed a place to post a distantly related thought, in regards to identity. Perhaps, for some, the avatar is a reflection of state of one's mind also. One might choose an armored, sci-fi supersoldier to represent how they feel in control, whereas they may choose a more gentler, calmer, meeker avatar to represent a fragility of mind, such as during a bout of depression.

As a closeted trans woman, I've pretty much always used female avatars in video games, before even realizing I was trans it was just something I always did, so even after realizing it just sorta is what I always did I found a Rusk avatar on some avatar world, thought it was cute, swapped to it, didn't think much of it Until like, maybe a week or so later, when I realized there was an in-game camera, and genuinely I can't describe the sudden rush of confusion and euphoria I felt when I turned it to selfie mode and saw myself, in real time, as this anime girl creature. For the first time, I looked in a mirror and didn't see a man, but a girl, and that moment is something I'll always carry with me. VRChat in VR has been an incredible experience for me, in large part because of the avatars letting me kinda forget what my actual body looks like and simply exist as something far more feminine, even if only for a few hours, and I've met so many cool people just screwing around in various worlds

This just reminds me of how I've ended up surpassing my identity, last year I figured out I was genderfluid, and unfortunately over the second half of that year up until now. I've been suppressing it, I use to try and express my gender fluctuations but eventually I gave up, and now I've just been progressively getting more feminine. Which isn't a bad thing but I've lost touch with my masculine side. I would love to visit and join this community, seeing as not only I am under the trans umbrella but a majority of my friends are. But I just don't have the motivation to get onto VR anymore. I've grown myself into school and personal projects and have just been overworking myself. This is an amazing place, something like this, when done well, can be the most amazing place to be. I have a class where it almost seems like something out of a show because we are all friends, and all get along and work/talk together, and I mean everyone. And it's awesome! I just wish I wasn't so work focused so that I could experience it too, I bet it's wonderful.

I wish my pc could handle vrchat better to go to those kinds of places, I'm having a terrible time trying to understand myself and coping with the possibility that I might be trans. I really wish people in the same situation as me can find the aid and help that I have been searching for.

Hearing about this for some reason flipped a switch for me. I haven’t really allowed myself to explore my identity despite having some VERY interesting feelings and questions. Hearing about this group just made me realize there’s somewhere where I can do that safely. This is amazing. Even if I’m trans or not, I’m so, so thankful for this.

I've heard a great argument to use when convincing cis people to support trans rights: Trans people feel the same thing about their bodies as for example cis male bodybuilders or women that don't feel masculine or feminine enough except in the opposite direction. Hair transplants or breast augmentation is gender affirming care.

Exposure is honestly way more powerful against prejudice than any of us can possibly imagine. I have multiple friends that I know had an internalized transphobia. I was fully ready to lose some of my close friends upon coming out. However, all of them took it incredibly well, and I was even told that I helped some of them change their minds on the entire community of trans people, and I feel so liberated now that I can talk about my gender-related issues with my friends, knowing they will be supportive. I know it doesn't go that way for everyone, but I would be lying if I said my coming out to friends didn't feel very special.

When I went through the changes in my life I wish I joined a community like this in the past >.< I'm relatively confidant in myself now and I'm proud of what I have accomplished all by myself but I'm sure it would have been less mentally taxing in a community like the trans Academy. The Proteus Effect. How you look affects how you think and how you act. Gonna have to look that one up. Maybe I can use that to help treat my ADHD. One of the hardest things about ADHD is internalizing "I can't do this" and constantly giving up because of that. I think this is a huge reason why I fell in love with _Black Clover_. The main character, Asta, is a magicless kid in a world governed by magic - not unlike an attentionless kid in a world governed by attention. He has this cheesy line, "My magic is never giving up!" It's cheesy, but it works in context. More importantly, you _feel_ it! It's truly an incredible manga. Maybe I could set my character to Asta and then study my homework in VR Chat? Can you even do that?

"fake it until you make it" and "dressing for success" are old concepts, but they can work. putting yourself in a mindset of being a success can influence you. YOU are a successful person. What would you as a successful person do? do that. embody that mindset.

Honestly, being trans is scary. It casts you as the other, and people are just ultimately scared and fearful of things they have no experience with or knowledge of.

Its amazing that such a place can exist outside of any irl laws that allows even those is less then ideal situtations to be who they want to be. Vrc does wonders for this like was mentioned but having a place for it to be talked about safely and help people he informed is amazing.
