It's a very accurate bit of reporting. Azerbaijan is majority Muslim, but no part of it's governance ideology has anything to do with Islam. It is a secular nation. Armenia is a majority Christian nation and Christianity plays a big part in it's founding principles - BUT it practices "separation of Church and State"... this is similar to the United States where it's found principles are heavily rooted in Judeo-Christian principles, but to avoid religion from becoming a part of governance, there are checks and balances in place to ensure "separation of Church and State"... Ex: a religious institution in the US can tell it's congregation to vote, but it can not tell it's congregation WHO to vote for -- otherwise they will lose their special non-profit tax exemption status as a religious institution.
