Michael is the most honest person I've ever seen. I've NEVER seen ANYONE who loves people more than him. You can see how emotional he is while he's singing. It really is hard to leave after you've seen all your fans who truly love you and sing this song to them. I am a devote Roman Catholic but when I heard Michael play this song LIVE in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this song got deep into my SPIRIT and I knew it was JESUS who was speaking to me thru Michael. When I go to Graduations or Funerals, and I see my friends whom I have not seen in years, this song comes to mind. This song will never die because the HOLY SPIRIT inspired this song in Michael.

This song has so much sentimental value to me. I first heard it at a Young Life meeting with my best friend Jim. We thought the song described our friendship. That summer we were in a car crash together. He died 6 1/2 months later. Then the song really described our friendship. It remains my favorite song and a lifetime is not too long to live as friends.

i just saw michael again at the nc state fair, with my best friend God gave me in the flesh. when he sanf friends we had one arm of ours around the others shoulder and my right hand had my cell phone for the light. the worship was unbelievable, i felt like i was in the upper room at pentecost. the fire fell upon us that night. you had to have been there. it soaked into my soul i had always wanted to do this with this person. she's amazing. pm me for details.

i was always partial to the original 1983 version with just michael, amy and the piano. but this is good without her. to hear him perform this live may 1, 1993 was an honor. now i have a second opportunity to do it again on the 19th at the nc state fair.

i saw michael in chapel hill, nc the night before this video was taped. at the dean smith center on the unc campus of all places!!! oh the irony! my 17th birthday was just days before and this was THE BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!!! there's so much i can say, but i would have to write a book about that to contain it all. the original friends from his first album still rules! long live mws!!

me and my friend saw michael in chapel hill ( see comment below), after out of this world, we stepped out, then i told her it's not a michael w smith concert without friends at the end. we almost missed it. the original version from 1983 is the best. like we are the reason or my father's eyes friends made michael w smith. and the story behind it you have to look it up. a friend of michael and debbie's was moving away. this was a goodbye present.
