@ Hamdan Jantan. Hassan Sani, Harun Jusoh,Isa Bakar, Mokhtar, Choon Wah, Shukur Salleh, Yahya Jusoh, Chin Aun,Chandran, Jamal Nasir & Arumugam. My best 11 who had played together as a team with Mokhtar.

@@yaploongsin8788 Totally agreed with your choice of the best 11. The beauty was that, apart from the first 11, we have also a pool of very talented players to comprehend the first 11. Chow Chee keong, peter rajah, santokh singh, wong kow foo, d davendran, kamaruddin abdullah, abdah aliff, g torairaju, bakri ibni, james wong, abullah ali, ramli junit . The best thing, malaysian players of that era comprised of all races. I am 54 years old now. Really missed that golden era where i was just a young kid back then😭😭

In truth the best striker for Malaysia is either Syed Ahmad or Shaharuddin Abdullah. Syed Ahmad top scorer in 1972 Olympic qualification in Seoul and Shaharuddin score a few goals in the Olympic. Mokhtar was outstanding for Selangor and his goals against arsenal and England was scored in a friendly game. Don't overrate him.

I am not overrating Mokhtar. I have seen matches involving Shaharuddin &Syed Ahmad too & I can say Mokhtar had played outstanding winning matches for Makaysia too in international matches.

@@yaploongsin8788 well said. Couldnt agree more. The late Mokhtar was without any doubt, the best ever striker for Malaysia. Consistently played for more than a decade for Malaysia.

The 1972 squad was the best ever assembled by Msia. Due to disciplinary reasons, Syed Ahmad was dropped from the squad & replaced by Salleh Ibrahim. In the match against USA, Msia won 3-0 with goals scored by Shaharuddin Abdullah, Salleh Ibrahim & Wan Zawawi.

@@yaploongsin8788 yup, we even managed to hold the mighty West Germany to a 0-0 scoreline for the first 45 minutes . I did remember Chin Aun was very closed to score a goal . Couldnt imagine if Syed Ahmad had played, the result might be different back then.
