Had a lot to say and was a great story teller. One story would lead to another which will blend into a poem, which will blend into a qawali which will lead to yet another story. When you were in his presence there was never enough time to absorb all he would share. Incredible human being

Intoxication of any kind is haram, whether in a religious sense or not. Once you lose your consciousness and don't know what you're saying, then it's pretty un-Islamic.

I'm reading thess posts about interpretation of this qawalli. Here's my take. Near the end of the video he says "desi na piyon ga, waliyon ke tasaduk mein vilayet ki pila de" He's basically to alcohol not the knowledge or any other abstract menaing someone might want to give it. One can decide for oneself. I drink. I like it and, as an independant man, i decide for myself and you should too.
