I was brought here by Esra Dalfidan, a Turkish jazz singer and composer I really love, also influenced by her ethnic heritage as well as by classical music, and she calls Aziza both a major influence and an inspiration -- and boy can I see why. +Aggie L It is a little more complicated, I daresay ;-) Before the 4/4 part, the time signature changes every cpl of bars in 3, 2, 7, 9, 5 etc. Following the melody is fluent though. Doing so, you can float through smoothly.

Stefaan Himpe No, she is a well-known jazz pianist and singer. Her father - Vagif Mustafazadeh - was a world-reknown jazz pianist from Azerbaijan, creator of the jazz-mugham style, which is a mix of jazz with traditional music of Azerbaijan, mugham. Hence Aziza's style. Check out Vagif's compositions, I bet you won't listen to any other jazz: Baki geceleri, Dusunce, Gelmedi, Aman ovchu, etc. Nobody has played piano like him.
