My mother who was born in Pico has climbed Pico from her house in the village of Santa Luzia before they had Casa Da montanha - with her brothers and a pot of milk on her head. Great video.

I have a feeling we were staying in Santo Amaro 🤗🤗 There was a boat and the red windmill on the way to the church with green hill looking like a rice fields I believe ☺️☺️ I think we were showing the town in the next episode 🥹🥹 Beautiful place. ❤️✨ We met many interesting people there. Love your videos! We are visiting the Azores in a month and SO excited 😃 Can I ask how long the hike took you? And did you book a time to start, or could just show up? We are staying in Horta and ferrying to Pico for our hike day. We are just a bit nervous about duration as there are limited ferries between Horta and Madalena 😅

Hello, thank you for watching ☺️🙏 You need to book your hike in advance. Make sure you have all the equipment and hiking shoes. The trip up is on average 4 hours and 4 hours back. There is also an option to climb up and sleep over and watch the sunset from the summit. We left at about 10 am for the day climb but if you choose to stay over night, you are starting in the afternoon ☺️🙏 Hope you enjoy your adventure and have the best experience 😊🙏❤️ I truly love the mountain and often thinking back how wonderful that was 🥹🎉💯⛰️

Hey Christine, I watched all your Azores Videos. They're great😍 We are going to visit the azores in June for our honeymoon and are looking forward to climb Mt. Pico ❤ for that we have one question😅 what we ask ourselves all the time... is there any possibility to go to the toilet on the way to the top? 😂😂 I can't find any information about that 😅 Thank you for sharing your experience! 😊

Hello lovely, 🤩🌹 thank you for watching the series ☺️❤️ Made with love for you 💞😁. This is a great question ⁉️. The only toilet is at the building at the start. I don't remember us going to the toilet at all over the whole climb. We didn't drink much water and what we did we sweat out 💦. I Reccommend having a good 💩 in the morning 🌄 and then empty tank before the climb. If it's urgent, you can always jump behind rock somewhere 🥹🥹. It's recconend to bring 1.5l per person of water but we only brought that for both of us and it was enough ☺️❤️. Hope it was helpful ☺️☺️. I love the restaurant-the view is fantastic. But also the smaller restaurant/bar Adega-great spot to lounge on a summer night for drinks. Can’t wait to be there again this summer. But my heart belongs to Terceira.

It was almost like the blue zones where all people mingle together. Nobody is isolated or lonely. I love it 💘💯😌 I am releasing this Friday last video from Pico 🏝️ and in a week, we will be island hopping to Terceira !!! So excited to share 4 days in Terceira 🏝️🌋🌊💕🙌🥹🎊 It was a truly amazing experience 🪄 The most fun was running with the bull 🐂♉😂😂😂

@@christinenobles I live in California ☀️My parents were from Terceira and I was born in the US. But whenever I go to the islands it feels like home. Helps that I married a man who is also Portuguese (American born) but still has ties to his fathers island of Pico. We visit the islands fairly often. Lots of “older” people there. 😉 You were brave to run with the bulls!! That is the most “Terceira” thing you could possibly do! lol

@@ronellogerz1209 Hello lovely, if I was you, I would possibly contact some Airbnb hosts in the area and ask them for lift. At the Azores is not much infrastructure. Also things get booked out easily including the hike. Make sure you do research early on 🙏🥹 The locals are very kind. I am sure you find someone to help out ☺️❤️🙏🫂✨ We haven't used taxi or public transport. However you can also join Azores groups on Facebook and team up with someone who goes there the same day ☺️🙏

Awesome video! My sons and I are planning on doing the climb in August. They will be fine as they are in their 20s. Its me I'm concerned about at the age of 64. How did you prepare for the climb? Hello beautiful 😍❤️ We done absolutely no preparation. We didn't even have the right equipment or amount of water with us 😭😂 It was a completely spontaneous decision !!! After staying in Horta staring at Pico from our hotel room, I have decided that it was ment to be and that we are climbing up !!! 😭😂😂 Mike said that I was crazy but for me it was a destiny !!! I have seen there a lot of older couples !!! One man I adored was around 70 climbing to stay overnight camping !! It all depends on your fitness level and healthy knees. For some 20yo this might be harder than for you !!! 😂😂😂 We been through something in life and we are mentally strong 💕🙏 That was the main contribution to my success haha 😂😂😂 I live in Darwin Australia. It's as flat as it gets so I am right there with you. However I am a fitness competitor 😁😁 And I walk, sprint and lift heavy weights almost daily. Maybe long walks in the nature and gym stairs exercise will help you to level up before the climg !!! I believe in you !!! 💖💯 You can do this !!! 😍😍😍🎊🌹🌞
