Aztec Death Whistle Homemade

Homemade version of the Aztec death whistle constructed from PVC pipe and fittings. After building this whistle I noticed it was extremely loud. My neighbors were hearing it loudly and they are located more than 100 yards from my house. I blew it in the house and the cats went crazy.

This doesn’t sound anywhere near as good as other recreations using PVC and aluminum tubes. Sorry dude, needs some modification to get a more scream like sound

I think the whistle chamber and the tube needs to be a bit wider and a bit longer. Not sure but there’s a simpler recreation using an aluminum tube that sounds incredible

The camera mic does not do the sound justice, it sounds much better in real life. I listened to some of the skull versions and mine sounds very close to those.

I have watched many of these videos and my computer speakers does not convey the true sound of any of them. I believe the Makers word.

Very cool! I'm wondering if it'll be possible to add some clay to the resonance chamber to make the skull shape...or do you think that would change the sound?

I am sure it would dampen the sound some what, but you could try it and see. I spoke with my neighbor and he stated he could here the whistle loudly and he is 200 plus yards away. In the video the sound seems to be muted from the actual sound level, I think it is over driving the camera microphone.

It looks like your resonator is too small and too thick and the hole to the resonator too large. You on the right track but you must modify.

1000 yards away i highly doubt that

Not exactly sure about the 1000 yards although the whistle is extremely loud and my neighbor lives far from me and he stated he could hear it very well. It does hurt my ears when I blow it.

@@Handyman2020 in your description you state 1000 yards which seems like an overstatement i feel like maybe 100 yards would be more accurate. but still very nice work especially for bits and pieces found around the house im still trying to get a bullet shell whistle to work

Can you explain how you made the different size holes on the lathe?

I bored the chambers on the lathe using a drill bit. Check out my updated video on the whistle, the second one sounds much better. Turn up your sound to get the best effect.
