It boils down to japan not having goons and someone like tabben is well aware of that. Ashi nagi brute force is actually the best approach because nagis can tank well.

I really hope the next patch gives Japan a little something. Also going huss almost never works against Aztec, Eagles just counter it, Tabben needed to switch to goon instead. Also incoming Aztec stans, crying about how Aztec sucks and can't win games. Everyone is crying about how Eagle knights are too strong or too weak against musk, but they're so broken against cav, which is a way bigger problem.

Not only is Aztec SEEMINGLY busted, but the stats are consistently top 3 in terms of win rates for Aztecs, if not the #1 spot for winrate across all elo levels Such an insanely busted civ. The fact is they can apply early pressure, turtle with warriors, boom and FF ALL AT THE SAME TIME ITS SO DUMB

One of the reasons eagles are so insanely busted is that that 1.5 fire rate is actually extremely good since it reduces the overkilling. When using goons you can only kill new targets every 3s but these guys will target twice as many targets which is actually huge. Especially since goons have so much damage vs heavy cav and overkill even in very small armies.

Japan needs something honestly and is on one of the worst situation in history of this game. Yumi got animation nerf with DE, I would begin with bringing back their good initial shot animation. Secondly yabusame needs to be a bit more comparable against cav to at least goons. They have 45% range resist and are fairly healthy but lacking of culverins is the main reason why players tends to recruit them. Yabusame on paper is if not worst, is one of the worst anticav light cav in a game. This should also be changed to be at least situational. And the cost I wouldnt touch here just because of anti artilery capabilities.

Eagles are fine tbh. Main problem is japan is just bad overall. If there was any european civs those eagle runners wouldnt do much. Falconets are destroying them.

Not to mention FI and heavy cannon spam from european civs is really lethal most case scenario. well awared of jpks stealth players tends to save explorer as long as possible. arrow knights are just not culverins. culvs got splash and cannonball collision damage, they are straight up better most of the time. aztecs got strongly nerfed in most recent patch with war dance, further changes might be a bit too harsh imo
