I applaud your decision to rotate the T.I.E. Fighter window 22.5° so there's a window on top and not a window frame! That's how the T.I.E.s look from the inside!!! Great idea!!! You are so totally on my page and in my wheelhouse! Thank you for the many videos!

The kit is made so that you can choose either option. I guess I prefer the road less traveled.

I'd call that cockpit oppulant, either the ships too big or you have to be small in stature to be a tie fighter pilot 😉👍and the death star shout is pure genius

You could run two or more 9 volt batteries in parallel which will give you a longer run time between battery changes. Parallel results in more capacity at the same voltage. This looks great.

Hi Lou. Another really nice result 👍. It did look like it was too dark initially, but I guess that was the automatic aperture of the camera. Against a dark background it opens wider and so makes the ship look lighter. My only issue is why didn't you paint the stand rod black? I agree with others that sticking to the Friday upload is best. I always look forward to Saturday morning (here in the UK) to watch the latest AD video. As always, looking forward to next week 👍 😊

Lou. Are you sure the wall mounting strip is really well secured to the dome? I think some of the force will be directly acting to pull the model forwards and down, away from the strip, and it is going to be hanging there for quite some time.

Lou + they do make a photo etch set for this tie fight it's for the cockpit walls so you can back light the decals at the time they released this kit they weren't ready but yes they do Jamie was working on the E James small at small art works was working on that

Nice, relatively straightforward build with a very satisfying conclusion. The TIE fighter is one of those ships that I love to hate, and I feel you on leaving the top hatch removable. A hinge would be nice but there’s just no graceful way to do it. Great display choice too.

That lighting trick with the clear red on the green LED worked far better than I would have thought. Much simpler than my idea. I still do not see the clear evidence that the pilot is anywhere near the right size-- maybe it was Father/Son Day at the Imperial Flight School? Still an interesting build and a very nice display concept-- too bad about the Deathstar! And RoboCop never looked so good.

I can't NOT notice the incorrect _curved_ panel behind the front canopy. It's NOT supposed to curve like that. All studio TIE models have a flat front panel. I'm surprised more people have not brought this up. For all this model's beauty, I can't unsee it. Here's to another expensive kit that I have to modify (correct). I've been reading about fit problems. My cockpit halves don't fit correctly and I have to use considerable force to line it up (the locator pins likely won't hold up). I haven't checked for some of the wing issues that are being reported. I'm a little disappointed, myself. The cockpit just has issues. I understand they were trying to incorporate the studio model and the live, stage cockpit but maybe they should have stuck to the studio model for a "Studio Series" offering. All issues considered however, it's hard not to be impressed by the sheer size of the thing. I like your mounting choice.
