Thanks for the video update. Lucky thing having spares with those bussard collectors. I thought you might go for thermal moulding a piece of clear plastic by pushing a marble on the end of a paintbrush into a heated sheet. It's working for me making a probot viper droid sensor lenses.

I'm a huge fan of Concept spacecraft - it is interesting to note that the great Luigi Colani, the German industrial designer, was responsible for all the sexy curves in 50's concept cars. So many production designers from the 60s borrowed from his futuristic eye - clearly, this shuttle is in that wheelhouse. Very cool.

Those light panels look to be a lot of resin surrounding a LED, if that is true you should be able to cut the large panel down to size. FYI 1/537 TOS Enterprise buzzard collectors are 30 mm diameter and 15 mm high and the 1/350 NX 01 buzzard collectors are 24 mm in diameter and 15 mm high. Math suggests the 1/350 TOS buzzard collectors should be around 46 mm in diameter and 23 mm high. Can hardly wait to see the shuttle completed.

That was a satisfying solution to the Matrix woes-- I could have lingered on that gun re-finish a bit more. And one does wonder, why didn't they go for a black or even blacker finish? Yipes that's a big concept shuttle. Big enough to put everything in. Looking quite good -- awaitin' for next week.

This particular version was based on how he looked in the IDW comics. They may have recolored the blaster to show up better in print.

I had a thought on the done for your hoozitter collector there, if you can make it work. You know those gumball machines that sell those cheap, crappy trinkets, that come in those two-piece capsules? Well, some of those are clear or clear-ish. Maybe you could cut them down to size. And thanks for the advice on Metropolis! I did it half-assed, which is how I do most things. But I found the long version on Netflix first, so I watched that. Great flick. And it would lend itself splendidly to dubbing it like MST3K, or J Men Forever. I’ll have to start looking for the Moroder version now. Thanks again!

Hi Lou, love the concept shuttle. That would have made such a 60's look to the shuttle but I understand those curves would have been very time consuming to make. Question though, Comparing the large and small shuttle look how far back the nacelles go on the larger model. Really they appear to go to the back of the model. Where the smaller one they end probably 2 inches from the back. Are those scaled correctly? Also as far as the bussard collectors have you thought about different size marbles? You might have to hollow out the front of the nacelle so the marble fits in the front. Just a thought.

When I built the little one, I mistakenly put the pylons on backwards. They are supposed to sweep back not to the front. The large version is correct.

Something I believe would be (Peachy Keen) Neet & Interesting UNCLE LOU.....Please do an episode on Your printer/printing (I know, I know you said, "You are Not a printing channel 'blah, blah, blah, But still, you could print an object(s)/kit & also incorporate a CLEAR attempt (waaaah, don't want to clean out my printer) .... There are resins out there now & post processing steps to get a "clear" result. (I know it's not High-falootin model-building per se. but) If nothing else, it would make a heck-of-an interesting segment or three.....LOTS-O-LOVE, Todd. p.s. Got a kit I've created to send to ya....not real big & won't take up much space in the Temple.....maybe you could paint it in "C3PO GOLD" & Shock The World.....I'll send it & maybe sumthin extra....Be Well Unc......Like a Gun or a Condom....Better to have it & not need it than Need it & not have it....attribution- the short 'blonde' haired chick in AVP...;;;Haaaaasssa!

The 1st thing that comes to mind for those nacelle domes are those smaller gum ball machine prize capsules. Likely not even around as much these days, no idea?

Lou, live you builds. How do you make the decal transfer material disappear on the model?

Put a gloss coat down, decal over that make sure there is no trapped air under them. The secret is to put a flat coat over them when they have dried
