"My God that's a big ship ..." Fantastic as always! I was a bit hypnotized by that shot of looking down the barrel of the nacelle with the blue lights on.

Looking great Lou!!! The registry numbers are perfect as is the entire saucer. Good idea on the reinforcement tubing around the saucer edge. I love the lighting for this one, awesome. Looks like this one is about ready for its spot in the display room.

Your doing a fantastic job Lou! She is definitely a thing of beauty! I met you at Wonderfest this June, was very happy to meet and greet with you. Looking forward towards next weeks final reveal on this build.

No one blames Aztec Dummy at this point if he changes his intro line from "I picked a bad week to stop sniffing glue!" to Daffy Duck's "Hoo hoo, hoo hoo!" It'll be a nice model when it's finished but "Gee, Wally, that's an awful lot of messy work!"

You're my hero Lou! She looks GREAT! I can't wait until next week to see the Enterprise in her full glory. OUTSTANDING JOB!!!

Lou, this is the first time I’ve heard such excitement in your voice on finishing a project! Excellent - what a great project! I’ve been following you for at least 5 years.

Lou, I stumbled upon this build about 6 weeks ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. So much so that I’ve gone back over a few more of your builds, like the TNG Enterprise and the Reliant, in between updates. What really love is the way you work through problems as you find them, as well as the general air of positivity you have about your videos (there’s no sarcasm or negativity in your videos which is a real breath of fresh air for KZbin). I’ve really enjoyed watching this particular build come together, I’m a model builder myself and my wife calls this my model-porn! I genuinely cannot wait for next weeks update, I’m seriously looking forward to seeing the pennants finally in place and the model weathered, flatted and lit up I really want to have a crack at one of these myself, I can make the room, but sadly I don’t think the wife would appreciate having to peer around it to watch TV in the lounge 🤣🤣🤣

I looked at an enterprise today it's a newer version dont know if I will build one yet I might the light kit that you used in it really brings it to life,I'm kinda work on everything star wars but they are getting hard to find around our area hobby shops.

Looks amazing Lou . This build is a real highlight of my week and love the fact that its long , you get your moneys worth . I have to admit that I realize its not accurate but the gloss finish is not a bad look without the flat coat in the end ..

Lou...what takes you a sneeze to finish would take me a year to complete! She is pretty showy. Very well done! But you're gonna need a bigger boat, tho.

Great progress!!!👍👌👍👌👍👌 So will this model be taken to the 2020 Nationals? Very interesting use of the tubing to act as a brace. It actually worked far better than what I imagined you'd do. I thought you might be cutting a series of rightish angle triangles to act as braces for 3/4" square flat surfaces placed 1/8" apart all along the inside edge. In any event, your solution was elegant and simple all in one act. Will look forward to see the unboxing of the ones you picked up from the Chattanooga Nats. I am intrigued but the long unlabeled box and I see it looks like you picked up a Yamoto model. What did you think of the LEM? I have only seen it thru photos and it blew me away with the detail he put into it! I can only imagine what it looked like "in the flesh" so to speak. It looked like it fully deserved the "Best of Show" award. There was a number of people from my neck of the woods (Toronto, Ontario) that were there and a few won best, first and second awards in aircraft and armour.

That enterprise looks awesome, I wonder cause I did not catch it on the video if you put the fiberglass in the round done bottom part? Like before the top part of the saucer
@aztekdummy5 жыл бұрын
Fiberfill, not fiberglass. And yes I did, I just forgot to film it. Ooops
@FMChimera5 жыл бұрын
Some 3M automotive body adhesive (2 part) to hold some big bosses of some solid material inside the B/C decks, then screw it to the saucer top from inside the saucer. Pulls the two pieces together and would have eliminated the gap.

Might I say this is a amazing model... the amount of time and prep you are putting into it are truly inspiring!!! Just one question: When you flat coat it are you going to frost over your impulse engines or just let the flat coat haze over the engines?
@1701_FyldeFlyer5 жыл бұрын
Awesome build but it is too glossy, presumably will be sprayed with a matt or satin finish?
@eddiegochenour4105 жыл бұрын
I have been absolutely enthralled watching you build this masterpiece. Excellent job you have done! What’s your thoughts on fixing the light leak around the bridge and saucer?
@coolal195 жыл бұрын
Just want to say, be careful with the gridlines. She's beautiful without them. In any case, I would think weathering occurs after the gridlines but what do I know? Having said that, you da man!
@aztekdummy5 жыл бұрын
yes, grid then weather , but flat coat first

Problem solving is part of the fun, but there might be some helpful suggestions you hadn't considered if viewers were aware of the dilemma in advance... perhaps shorter instalments?

"Spectacular" doesn't quite do it! Imagine being in trouble out there and this thing just glides next to you, all lit up like that. But I gather wool! Quite the Epoxylypse!!! I am surprised you didn't cut out some wooden arcs to spread the pressure between clamps. But you would have had to putty and work the edge regardless. All the steps are interesting. Really nice to see so much in detail. Dare I say, in the home stretch!?

Why go through all the effort to make this beautiful TOS Enterprise model with such amazing cannon detail only to add those ridiculous blue lights to the nacelles?? Why?? They’re not cannon!!!! OMG. You might as well put a third nacelle on there... why not? It will look cool. Screw cannon:

I never cease to be amazed by the gall of the rivet counters who think they can dictate to a modeller what the appearance of HIS model in HIS home should be. ESPECIALLY in this case where the mod can be turned off at the flick of a switch. Me, I don't have to agonise over the exact shade of grey the shooting model was because I plan to paint my 1 : 350 Enterprise off-white, the way it looked on my TV screen in the sixties and has been my head-canon ever since. Hope that doesn't give you an aneurysm.

To answer your question, because he wants too. And it's not your build, AW. Further, how do we *really* know whether or not the Mona Lisa was smiling? Have you ever put glue to styrene? ...probably not.
