It's the second chapter in this EPIC build.
Filling the windows, making the phaser strip and starting work on the main power board.
Lots of sound and fury!

I do enjoy watching you guys attack this kit in your own ways as I'm working through my own solutions to all the issues! I think you guys will be passing me on this as I'm only modeling part time and have the two kits on the go. I'm not sure how long I'll have the space to work on the two 650 D's at the same time! My goal is to have them done before Wonderfest, and I've been given permission from one of the clients to bring it along with me! It could be the year of the 650 D at Wonderfest! Probably be another week or so before my next update vid comes out... so much repetitive work!

If you light your LCARS panel, the Okudas suggest to use smoked plexiglass. They say this looks much better, and it's what they used on the shows.

Not sure if you know Lou, but you can tint resin to any color you'd like. So, black to make the windows black. Of course, it needs to be resin tinting dye. You can get a set for really cheap. It'll work with either of those UV resins your using on the model windows.

For the bridge dome, a small googly eye, or if it's too small, a few drops of epoxy on a non-stick flexible surface like a silicon baking sheet, to create a series of small domes so that you have a choice of sizes and quality to choose from? Might also work for marker lights where you use 'light pipe' to get to tight spaces...

The saucer halves just barely fit on his workbench as it is. He’s gonna have to do final assembly in his garage. We’ve seen his display space, and I don’t think it can be rearranged to make space for this Enterprise- maybe another addition to the house is in order. Or, maybe a kid will move out and their bedroom can be converted into more display space…😊

Interesting theory about leaving a few support pieces of the original resin to hold the ship together. I dunno though, that UV resin is mighty tough stuff. Probably greater tensile strength than the resin. All depends on the cure time. Turning to the interior lighting-- I believe you have a reel of "bendy" strip lighting. It was made for the wild new world of LED "neon" signs so it can bend in both directions. That may help you when it comes to lighting up the curvy parts of the interior. Its only potential pitfall is that it is warm white. Why anyone would use the cooler white is beyond me. Why stop at powered speakers? Hook it up to your stereo sound system! The biggest problem with such a monster kit is that a lot of progress doesn't look like much. But we all know better. Doing the hull masking must be a bear and a whale.

@@aztekdummy you should still cook up some kinda window mask kit for it. Even being translucent it's a PITA. I tried taping off windows from the inside and just gave up. I'll scratch them out from the front and just not light block the interior at all I guess.
