It's not a good strategy to start from the corner, because that way you are really limited on what you can do to build your wall and the opponent can easily mess up your game. I think it makes more sense to start from the middle.

I agree. I like to start in the middle and build out.

This is such a good video! There's a large void in board game strategy videos and this is a perfect little video. Would love to see more videos on the strategy of games. I think there's an oversaturation of top 10/100 lists and playthroughs compared to strategy. Thanls for the great video 😁

Wow, great info. It’s amazing how deep as strategic a seemingly simple game can get. Thanks for giving me ideas of the types of strategy to consider. This is the type of stuff I usually figure out on my own...after many months of playing a game-so now I have a huge head start.

Love this look into Azul's strategy. We are looking into making an Azul video ourselves because we love this game so much!

Thank you. I definitely do get hooked into the 5-of-a-kind trap. This was great to watch.

very good explanation of the strategies in this seemingly simple game. Kudos!

In my opinion the only viable 5 of a kind that is worth going for is the blue one. Since most of the action is going to be in the center anyway and U R going to have the least "point losts" (not getting as much at any turn)

Hate draft doesn't matter as much when it's 2 players. But when it is 4 players near the end and there is a large pile left to take from, it can be devastating. Deliberatelg ensuring someone takes a -6 handicap from taking 4 tiles they can't use can swing the balance of the game.

What do you mean by hate draught please? Great video, thanks - most helpful.
@garansebastianbach7915 жыл бұрын
Hate Drafting..refers to the way each player attempts to pick a specific item from the pool..in order to primarily prevent the opponent from high scoring (while that item may or may not be of benefit for his/her own scoring)..

Your argument for why not to hate draft is better employed as an argument for why real Azul is clearly a 2p game. ;)

Or stated non-pretentiously, you prefer the game at two players.
