it's not a coincident that both Laffey and Z23 is the weakest of all the starters because of their mediocre augment upgrade, Javelin got turn into a barrage machine with her augment while Ayanami turn into a mini Shimakaze with her augment... meanwhile Laffey got a terrible heal while Z23 got 8% damage reduction....

Fun video. Defied some of my in built expectations which was interesting. And I did learn some stuff.

While interesting data, I find the results highly inconclusive. First of all, what do you consider 'endgame'? The new challange mode? OpSi Hard? Meta of the month? 14-4? Depending on what you consider, the results will vary. For example, if we take last months Gemini fight, I think Javelin will probably do the best of those 4, because she has good EVA, while doing Trp Dmg against not one, but 2 heavy targets. 14-4 works reasonably well with high pellet volume, and Laffey does wonders there, I actually use her in my all EU mobfleet with Arizona-Bunker Hill-New Jersey plus Anchorage-herself-San Diego. Meta depends on the fight, Queen Elizabeth META might have been best for Ayanami, this months' is with 5 targets probably better for Javelin. But then again, we could also go the route of usage in actual meta fleets, where, first off, it would be a wash cause none of those 4 are relevant, but I think Ayanami might be the most usable as a replacement for Shimakaze. So, while this would've been a cop-out answer, all of them have their uses, all are adorable, love them and pledge them your soul and first oath ring. I chose Laffey, and she never disappointed me, even now she does surprising amounts of damage, especially for vanguard. But, if we really need a ranking, its probably Ayanami>Javelin>Laffey>Z23, because torpedoes just are kinda good.

Good point. And it applies for various roles, UvH for example arent the best BB for meta boss, but is the best BB for W14 and one of the best (if not the best) to play without Helena. AL endgame content are much more varied than we credit it to be.

Man, Arizona really do be caring all EU mob fleets. I'm personally trying to build an all EU OS fleets, so my mob is Arizona-Alabama-independence Minneapolis-San fransisco-phoenix. This allows the other ships to go to boss fleets. But I will add before I got San Fransisco my original mob fleet was the same as above except the middle position was filled in by laffey.

If you want to test for longer fights, how about the challenge mode? That fight is very long, but I'm not sure how suitable is for testing (well at least it doesn't cost resources to do).

Cool vid with unexpected results. Idk what you consider end game but it might also be fun to compare mob fleet performance for ch 14 and such. Torp dds will always be better at single target bossing so I wonder how relevant consistent main gun dmg will be when mobbing.

@@ismailabdulq1492 There's no "right way" to clear C 14. I used a completely unorthodox fleet to finish chapter 14-3 and 14-4. Javelin's unique module wasn't available at the time.

As much as I stand by the idea of testing the strengths and weaknesses of each shipgirl by actually using them to prove it, it is the most inconsistent and unreliable form of calculating and ranking shipgirls. Also unless I missed it, u didn’t mention wat ur permastats r rn. This can sque the results greatly if u have greater permastats on either FP or TRP. Rn I have 42FP and 32TRP for DDs. Unfortunately it is more reliable and fair if there r no permastats involved at all. Why? Bcuz having more permastats in 1 offensive stat makes those who lean harder into said stat have an advantage over those who don’t, and also those who have lower stats will be more greatly effected by an increase in said stat. That 42FP for DDs makes a bigger difference on my kitakaze than it does on my Laffey. Without permastats my Laffey has 230FP while my kitakaze has 168FP, and kitakaze fires her main gun twice each time instead of once, commonly known as MGM+1. Also aya is still the torp Queen. Shimakaze isn’t actually any good with torps, she just has broken barrage torps. I’d say around 80% of shimakaze’s DMG comes from her barrage torps. While like 99% of aya’s DMG comes from her torps. And in very particular situations, aya can out DPS shimakaze, it’s just hard to do. Bcuz of factors like these and others it is always good to do on paper calcs as well to show if there is any kinks that need to be ironed out of ur test results if any.

Personally, at the stage I'm in the game right now, I tend to only use the starters for faction locked fleets, so this way they can benefit a bit of faction buffs and because it is quite fun. Honestly, all 4 are more then capable of doing the whole content of the game, so their diference, even though noticeable, still allow them to be very good till this day, but I wonder how could they become even stronger if not by a Type 2 form, just like we saw Laffey 2 in Yorky 2 event, since all 4 already got their modules and retrofits already. Would love to see a stronger form of each eventually, love them all ❤
