I've been through 3 Elastic Job Agent tutorials and this is the only one I understood (and the only one that worked fully). Great stuff!

Excellent explanation and demo; massively better than what is available at docs.microsoft.com, which is essentially useless!

David, a fantastic and simple explanation for a complex functionality that is still in preview (almost 1.5 years later) but is crucial. Thanks for your efforts.

Great Presentation Dave. I have been experimenting with this as a replacement as it's a much needed enhancement to managing Azure Databases. I have noticed that if you define a multi step job the ordering seems to be reversed with the latest step defined being placed and executed first.

Im still slightly confused by the logins. Why can't we just use one login and grant the permissions necessary to run?

Nice Video! I want to update a couple of tables in a database every 5 minutes, I already have a stored procedure that performs this task, my question is: What is the most effective and least expensive method for this, Azure Elastic Jobs or Azure Functions?

Hi David! This is a very detailed explanation and thank you for your content. How do we execute stored procedures using elastic jobs?
@adrianimpedovo52373 жыл бұрын
The only change from this tutorial you need to make to get stored procedures to work using elastic jobs is to make sure your users on your dbs have permission to run stored procedures. If you go into each of the databases the sql agent will run on and run GRANT EXEC TO [User_Name]; where username is the login you made for the server agent, it will work.
