I think it would be a cool upgrade vid later in the series to add this in 16:50, I think access-policies are also trying to be moved away from towards RBAC style ones looking forward to the full tutorial, and a keyvault specific one later on would be awesome. some tf tutorials online talk about accessing secrets via data elements, instead of generating/storing secrets directly in statefile etc.

Good ideas. I definitely plan to expand the azure function architecture. Including multi-region deployments and leveraging different databases like cosmos db.

I’m also a bit torn about my beloved access policies. On the one hand it does keep everything need and tiddy from an authZ stand point. On the other hand, it requires elevated privileges to manage ARM RBAC.

I’m also of the opinion that the state file should be accepted as sensitive and should be protected. Once this fact is accepted. It becomes much easier to embrace terraform construction of secrets that are not auto-generated by resources themselves (I.e. passwords, ssh keys)
