In this overview video I cover the basics of containers, Kubernetes, the Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and how all the pieces fit together! Spoiler, this is way more than 6 minutes ;-)

For beginners, its definitely a first stop to learn the basics of AKS. Thank you John! Referred plenty of AKS session, nobody could explained so simple as you, thanks!

I watched this again today having done alot on AKS in the last month and got even more from it second time round. Great stuff and many thanks. The content really is good because there are quick overviews and summaries of ancillary topics which means alot gets packed in to 20 minutes and its both a good intro for the beginner and great revision for the intermediate.

Wow this was a phenomenal video! I'm studying for my KCA right now and you covered almost every topic that the cert goes over. An interesting thing to go over next would be security and how the certs would work. Also, I'm working for a large media company so it would be great to use AKS with CDN capabilities which I'm sure is possible just need to do some research to cache at the edge locations and make the website even better and more efficient! Definitely subbing and you remind me a lot of myself! Thanks!

I was introduced to your vids by a work colleague and I can see why! I must admit I sometimes need to pause and look things up, so that I get a better understanding of certain terms, but your explanations/diagrams really promote learning! In the last week, I've watched several of your vids already. Brilliant work!

Thank you John. I really love the way you explain things. One thing I still didn't get why I would use ACI? Thank you again for great work here.
@NTFAQGuy4 жыл бұрын
Because it’s pure consumption based, you only pay for when a container is running while with the worker nodes they are basically vms you pay for even if not fully utilized. Aci is great for bursting scenarios.

Technically the Docker technology does not guarantee immutability of images. It is totally possible to change an image for any given tag to be different. That said it's unlikely this is going to be commonly done and therefore less of an issue... but just thought I'd point out that Docker and the registries do not guarantee immutability.

I thought this video was about how to setup Azure Kubernetes Services inside Azure. But this tutorial has nothing to do with azure. I just wanted an explanation of how AKS actually works, what are the options when creating this resource in Azure and how does it differ from my local instalaltion of k8s on linux.

No its an overview, not a step-by-step.

Depends if other features around networking, storage, deployment etc. if very small and basic app service may be fine.
