Really sad. Even less beauty in this world now. I cannot believe nobody managed to film the actual collapse, though.

That is because it happened in the middle of the night in a hefty storm

What you said about “sometimes you will never have the value of something until it becomes a memory” is so true in so many ways. It’s sad, but Life can be like that.

The arch was badly damaged under the sea and irreparable. Most people stayed safely indoors the day the arch collapsed as there was a terrific storm with gale force winds. However, I am told someone was taking photos, bent down for a moment and when he looked up ... the arch had gone. Gozo is still worth visiting - the inland sea is unusual next to where the arch stood. There is a second Azure Window - try to find it. Citadel is a must. Salt Pans. Gorgeous small beaches and unique reddish sand on Ramla beach. Lots to do here, even wintertime.

Does Anyone know Why No one filmed it collapsing?
@overthinker5935 жыл бұрын
Because the only person who witnessed the actual collapse was an old Gozitan man who was walking down the road to see if his luzzu was still i take from the storm. No one was really expecting it even everyone knew it was expected

I’m so sad.. This wonderful location is now collapsed, I never got the chance to see it.. because I am born in Malta but then had to move to England the first time I was in Malta was in July 2018 and that was such a great experience it was a 2 week journey and now I’m on the plane to get there. I’m happy people could see it but I’m not that fortunate 😅

Arch in the blue pool will be next now it open the full fury of the elements. The sea has made huge underwater caves round this Island some safe to dive other not so. A ruggedly beautiful Island.

Such a shame. I remember this stunning landmark from a couple of shots at the end of the 1981 movie Clash Of The Titans. One of my favorite movies when I was a kid, and still is. Sad that nature has taken it :(
