Idk but that felt very sensual-ish because he used the word “home” LOL.

Agreed, it's just an accurate descriptor, at this point. I wouldn't even consider myself a "shipper" of Cyno/Tighnari, and Alhaitham/Kaveh, but it just feels sort of... matter or fact(?) I found it pleasant that Alhaithan and Kaveh didnt argue the whole time as they did in previous story quests, but I also realised that many characters are different from when they were introduced. Kaveh is more mature, Alhaitham is less sarcastic and doesnt fuel fights with Kaveh, Tighnari is not sassy anymore. And as for Cyno, he used to be ferocious when we met him, now he cracks dad jokes at any given opportunity. On the one hand, I do like the character developments and that the characters and not as one dimentional anymore as the version 1.x characters. However, I'm not sure if it's intentional by Hoyo...

commenting again, its just so funny to me that they're only talking like civilized adults yet people are somehow crying "fujobait" seriously what happened to media literacy? setting aside the most obvious source of their development that was quite literally in our faces (3.6 event), i thought they've always been like this? those claiming that alhaitham had changed and become boring, just because he's not bickering with kaveh are very strange to me. if you're looking for a character that does that, then i suggest looking elsewhere. alhaitham has always had a soft spot for kaveh; he's never been the type to associate himself with things that aren't of his concern and yet, he deliberately chose to offer kaveh a home, buy him crates of wine, and lets him buy things under his name/tab. he was his first friend, and alhaitham himself acknowledged that they're each other's mirrors. alhaitham, who believes that fate should not be changed, found kaveh moping in lambad's tavern and thought to approach him. i don't doubt he doesn't stick to his ideals, but kaveh is an obvious exception. if that had really applied to him, alhaitham would've just ignored and went about his life. what does he have to lose? he has a nice house all to himself and i'm sure he knows better than anyone else that kaveh falling into debt is not his fault, nor does it concern him in the slighest bit. and yet, he welcomed him into his home with open arms. not only that, he calls kaveh spoiled but who exactly is spoiling him? he has no family and he does not seem to accept things from others so easily because of his guilt complex, so i think we can make that conclusion for ourselves. (but if it still needs to be spelled out, it's alhaitham. it's alhaitham who's spoiling him, lol.) idc if you ship them or not but its obvious they're very special to each other. they were literally best friends in the akademiya. i guess caring for each other is fujo bait now, no wonder yall have a stick up your asses. please tell your friends you love them lmfao.

Alhaitham did not buy Kaveh crates of wine; Kaveh took them WITHOUT telling him beforehand. Check the Sumeru dock message board exchange between Lambard and Alhaitham again. It's not about the bickering silly. Alhaitham can still have soft spot for Kaveh and still not be boring. Is it too much to ask to let them retain their personality that made them so interesting in the first place? Or let them interact with others and not appear together on the same screen all the damn time? Bronseele is canon in every universe, and they are better written than these two. They also have their own social circles, and are shown to interact with other characters too. They are still themselves even though they are mean to be queerbaiting. And they are not always on the same screen like Alhaitham and Kaveh do. If Alhaitham and Kaveh are written like that, then I wouldn't be complaining at all. This is a pattern that Mihoyo tried to force to queerbait ships (Ratio and Aventurine, Acheron and Black Swan).

I wanted to like this quest so badly, I really did. It showed so much potential with the temple of silence lore, but in the end the whole experience felt underwhelming to me. The only saving grace for me, which I enjoyed, was the finale, that showed Cynos appreciation for his mentor and father figure. Rest of the interactions felt forced to appease certain shippers, so basically it was bland and uninspired as usual.

Agree. I used to like both Alhaitham and Kaveh before, but their interactions and the way they were portrayed in this character quest made me lose interest in them instead. They used to be interesting characters when one of them were not present, but here? They felt 'domesticated', perhaps to appease their shippers like you said. No more characters with interesting and developed personalities, just two men who seemed to be 'married' just for the sake of their shippers.

They have tried this before several times with EiMiko BeidouNinguang Clorivia etc. just to stirr up their community as a part of their marketing strategy and fanservice. They do understand fandom so the hints are very subtle. But fandoms are the ones making it seems bigger.

I don't know about HI3 (but then again HI3 have canon couples), but HSR thankfully have no such thing (they tried it with Aventurine x Ratio, thankfully did not catch on, unlike the actual popular BL cp Dan Heng x Blade). GI marketing of shoving those BL GL ships would have backfired in HSR, since the fandom cares more about the characters than the shipping (it didn't help that the HSR fandom on twitter helped show the rest of the HSR fandom the ugly, negative side when one became too engrossed with BL GL shipping, or trying to shove their lgbt headcanon towards others either).

Such as this cutscene of Alhaitham and Kaveh being reduced into UwU docile shipbait couple just to satisfy their certain audience. This is something that has disappointed me a lot. Where is my assertive independent calculating and blunt personality Alhaitham from AQ?
