It is really interesting to see the evolution of how he went from samples of hair and dresses to the final product. I would have liked to have seen him take and put some pictures of himself as he did all these steps into the exhibition as well. But I loved seeing those steps in the design process saved. I hope Mattel starts doing that for all their collaborations and I hope the in-house Barbie designers who work for Mattel take notice and do this for themselves if Mattel does not do it for them. This would be so cool to see at the Barbie convention and museums around the country. It would serve as an inspiration to young people thinking about becoming designers.

These dolls and art might not not be to everyone’s taste, but I love that Barbie is doing new things. There have never been Barbies quite like this, and I definitely see the artistic merit. I don’t love them, but I have thought a lot about them, and that’s what art is supposed to do.

The studies are amazing. Love seeing his process. I do think the exhibition is missing a glorious sculpted frame as he has done before. Imagine all the tiny Barbie hands shoes and heads! I love when he did the sculpted frames. Thanks for the thorough video. I would not have been aware otherwise!💕

I'm not sure if that was his wife, Marion Peck, sitting next to him at the signing... if so.. and regardless... I urge everyone to check out her art, she is incredible! I might even like her stuff more.. but this is so amazingly cool. I wish I could have scored the bumble bee!

I love mark Ryan but I’m kind of unimpressed by the designs. The pink Barbie does not look particularly Barbie or Ryden to me. I wish it had an 80s or 60s feel to it.
