From the first sniff on paper all those years back, I liked it. Seemed like a great casual scent with jeans. Never tested it on skin, but for me, I tend to be attracted to scents with a dominant spicy violet leaf up top. Too bad the prices aren't yet what they should be...

I used to like the original Chrome back in the 90's when it was released. I sampled it last year and, even if the opening was very bright, to me it was all shades of metallic. It was suffocating. I blind-bought Chrome United last year since many people commented that the metallic tone of the original was subdued. When I tried it, it also smelled awfully metallic. Since then it grew on me, mainly thanks to Nautica Voyage, which trained my nose to tolerate more synthetic and/or metallic fragrances. It is not my favorite but became wearable enough to enjoy it. Curiously I prefer it on the cold months since the metallic undertone seems subdued.
