Interesting, I had an uncle who was a tail-gunner and had his couple of ribbons framed around the piece of flak that came up through the belly-floor and hit him in the middle of his back. He said it felt like being shoved really hard with a broom stick. This is definitely next on my list of model builds, after the USS Saratoga CV-5, that my father was on 1930-36. Thank you.

It’s always more enjoyable building a model with some personal history. My father’s uncle flew Spitfires during the war. Only had to bail out once.
