B-17 Flying Fortress - Palm Springs Air Museum Walkabout

There are two flying B-17's at the Palm Springs Air Museum right now.
One is owned by the museum and there most of the time. When it is static it is available for walk through's. It is very nicely restored. The exterior is polished.
The second B-17 is privately owned and in for a major maintenance check. It has been there for a few years while a litany of maintenance has been done. The wings have to come off to inspect the mounting bolts. The propellers all came off for inspection. One engine was removed and repaired. The entire tail has been taken off for some reason. The airplane is expected to return to flying later this year.
