In this video I focus on Training Mission #4: Bombing (Good Conditions). I give five different examples of bombing, illustrating the effect of the intervalometer setting as well as the salvo switch, with some surprising results!!!

Excellent and very helpful. I especially like the way you repeat a single mission using different degrees of manual control, pointing out pitfalls and potential errors . I also like your comparison of the game's features to historic ones. Very helpful to my grandson who is trying the game for the first time and older vets of the game like me who enjoy watching a refresher.

Thank you for the helpful tutorial. I've noticed that if you hold down the CTRL key with the mouse pointer it is possible to make fine adjustments to the Drift Scale Dial and Altitude Dial. I've been able to correct the drift and get much better synchronization for the first time using this method.

Is it possible to bomb more than one target on a mission? I took out the first target with 2 racks, but the bomb site refused to lock on to the 2nd target. I did click the auto pilot switch and chose the other racks that have not been used yet, but still could not get it to lock on. Used shift k and moved the crossair over the target and hit shift k again, but it only kept going forward and did not lock on.

Why does my B17 keep losing speed and then eventually the crew automatically bails out just before release? What am i doing wrong?

Is it possible to locate target with keyboard and not joystick? If yes which keys I should use

If you mean can you move the Norden bombsight crosshairs with the keyboard then yes you can. It uses the same keys as that for the flight controls, i.e. Z = Left, X = Right, . = Up and ; = Down. All of the keyboard keys that can be used in the game are given on the pdf "REFERENCE CARD" located in the game's install folder.

So the Norden system will automaticity realise the bombs when the indicators and equal? I was hoping for a bomb realise button to press like in L-2 sturmovik 1946. Also the scene in Memphis Belle (1990) where the officers wrestle to drop the bombs has been etched in my mind. Yes, I know it was just a movie :)

Yes - the Norden bombsight automatically drops the bombs when the indicators align with one another. I believe this is a realistic representation of how the bombsight actually initiated the release when operated by a bombardier. However, I do believe there was a manual system as well which was operated by toggliers. For a large period of time during the Mighty 8th's bombing campaign, only the lead bomber would fully utilise the Norden Bombsight while the other bombers would watch to see when the lead bomber dropped their bombs and they would then manually release theirs. This meant that far fewer men were required to be trained as fully fledged bombardiers and that almost anyone could act as a togglier. The only way to manually drop your bombs in the game is via the emergency bomb release switch but then you can't see where you're targeting. The actual targeting using the Norden Bombsight is greatly simplified compared to the real thing.

how the heck do you aim the bombsight if you're not using a joystick?

I don't think you can. It's REALLY not recommended to play without a joystick.

is this game impossible to use on mouse/keyboard? anytime i move my mouse after selecting shift K, nothing happens

Much of the game can be played with mouse/keyboard. The big exception is moving/aiming of the machine guns which can only be done using a joystick.
