"The Mongolian Grand National Orchestra, having last experienced the resonating melodies of the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra 33 years ago, remains etched in historical significance. The past recording in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia of the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, including renditions of Tchaikovsky's 'Swan Lake' and 'The Nutcracker,' Rachmaninoff's 'Piano Concerto No. 3,' and Borodin's 'Polovtsian Dances from Prince Igor,' garnered global appreciation. Despite subsequent attempts in Mongolia to record orchestral music, none have matched the exceptional quality set by the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, as noted by James Mansell in the journal 'Asian Music' while reflecting on 'The State of Classical Music in Mongolia.' Despite the challenges and the absence of experienced engineers in the past, Bat-Erdene Tsedenbal, in his address through The Asia Foundation in 2023, expressed an optimistic outlook regarding the future of Mongolian classical music. He firmly believed that the emerging generation of musicians stands poised to propel Mongolian classical music to unprecedented heights. However, amidst this quest for musical excellence, a beacon of hope emerges. In a remarkable turn of events, marked by seven years of relentless dedication, investments in the arts, and pioneering innovations, B Production has orchestrated a collaboration with industry giants like Solid State Logic (SSL), Quested Monitoring Systems, and the Wes Latchod Acoustic Design Group. This collaboration has birthed an internationally competitive A-class studio in Mongolia. Breaking ground, this studio proudly introduces the ISO 3382:2009 acoustic standard for the first time in Mongolia, setting a new standard in the realm of music recording after 33 years. Here, the realm of Mongolian classical music echoes with the work of the visionary composer B. Sharav, resonating at 440Hz Records Studio A-a historical milestone crafted with the heart, knowledge, and talents of Mongolian musicians, the Mongolian Grand National Orchestra, conductor Buyanbaatar Namkhai, and B Production. This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the meticulous craftsmanship of Delgerdalai Erhembayar, chief recording engineer at 440Hz Records Studio A, and the invaluable expertise of Munich Philharmonic's former head of the acoustics department, Peter Brümmer. Their collaboration, alongside the guidance of Bold Dorjsuren, founder of B Production, has set a new benchmark in the art of orchestral recordings. As we celebrate this monumental accomplishment, let us acknowledge the dedication and creativity of all involved. This historic moment not only marks a leap forward for Mongolian classical music but also embodies the collaborative spirit and unwavering determination of those involved in the 'Live at B Production' project.
