Yea FC is the man. Same thing here, I don’t do secondaries and tertiaries every time but there’s a decent GitHub post that breaks down all those timings and their ranges when you Google it. Wasn’t a world of FPS difference so I stuck to primaries and rocked out. DDR5 is a bit different though

Good stuff. Frame Chasers is what inspired me to invest in B-Die as well. Currently at 3800mhz 16-16-16-26 and tRFC at 272 at 1.45v. I can run this kit at the same timings at 4000mhz but sadly my 5800x starts to throw out WHEA errors. Definitely makes a difference but I'm not able to achieve that low latency on an AMD platform. I'm currently at around 55-56ns latency which is pretty much as good as I'm going to get.

I’ve never tried AIDA64 but I am with you 16-16-16-26 is nice brev plus at that speed your probably maxing out the infinity fabric. I was unable to hold 4000MHz even though my Corsair kit was set to XMP and ran without WHEA errors at CL18, timings were high and infinity would cause a million errors a second at 2000MHz 😂

@@FIVESTRZ Yeah I run 3800 / 1900 no problem. 4000 / 2000 I get up to like 60+ WHEA errors setting at desktop after a min or so.

Yup! WHEA errors be like Weeeeee! When that stuff is off lol. Then running them mismatched dropped like 15-30 FPS in Vanguard as I tested so I stopped messing with it there on the Ryzen side

Most definitely! I was amazed at the boost in Warzone specifically. Some games saw little to no improvement but just understanding timings was worth it.

FIVE STRZ, Awesome video man. This is so informative for people who don’t know much about B-Die memory and how it can really help your FPS in some games. I also learned about B-Die from Frame Chasers. I’m currently running G.Skill Royal 4000 MHz 8GBx4 15-16-16-36 1.5v at XMP settings. I would like to tweak and get timings lower but don’t really know how and already running 1.5v so don’t really have much wiggle room.

You have great timings now 😂 you could try lowering the frequency and tightening down. That may help a bit too

PC just will cut off, save your functioning profile before starting to test and download Memtest86 (some ASUS boards come with it) might be able to lower the voltage even who knows I was hitting 4000MHz 17-17-17-39 at 1.38V I believe kits XMP was rated for 4400MHz C19 1.45V

@@FIVESTRZ I tried some Plunder Caldera last night and was disappointed with FPS, like 130-170 ish at 1440p Render Res. I have an Intel 10900KF with an Asus -Strix 2080 Ti so this is holding me back. But I’m really jealous of what FPS ur getting with ur 12900K and 3090. EDIT:

Great video! Just curious if you're fps results were all at 1440p? Also have you done any testing in warzone 2 or mw2, regarding using bdie vs no bdie? Once again loved the vid.

Yes, everything was 1440P. I have the 13900K videos using B Die, same kits actually - I would never go back to non b die but it was 20 FPS difference on the low end just using XMP and 50-70 FPS higher with B Die on Warzone 1 versus non B Die XMP. 4000C18 Corsair Vengeance is what I used back then.

I have a strix 3080, 12900k with the same cooler as you, strix z690 gaming a and 4x8GB 3200 cl16. I'm not interested in buying any kit which isn't corsair RGB because I've invested a lot in the icue ecosystem. Right now I can't find anything above 3600 c16 (I live in Spain, but amazon Germany doesn't have stock either). I've been very lucky paying MSRP for my whole PC but I feel bad having such great components and missing 20%+ performance because of my ram, so overpaying a little bit for that is ok. I need 32GB in total. How much performance do you think I'm losing because of my ram?? you had the exact same kit I own right now on your AMD build, at least that's what it says in the description. Hard to say exactly but I can tell you before my highest FPS I would get would be 220 but same set up but new RAM was 260-270 highs in some parts of game and 300 in Gulag. You can try things like working on your timings and shooting for tighter timings on your current stick. I did that on my Corsair 4000MHz CL18 kit and that helped a lot too. I watched a lot of videos on how to tune ram before starting, main advice is just use that clear CMOS behind your mobo which when I had the Z590 STRIX. It’s not a hard process just time consuming

Hi mate, I am in exactly the same boat as you. Ive got 2x16gb Corsair RGB Pro ram @ 3600mhz CL18 and love it, but since seeing these gains 5STRZ is getting I have just bought some Patriot Vipers base timings 2x8gb 15 15 15 36 4000mhz to try. I cannot wait to try them..😃

Get that Memtest86 ready man! Lol this kit is clean and fast af boiiiii. Ram 3733 CL14 Gear 1 and recently went to a Gear 2 set up to keep the voltage and CPU temp a bit lower by lowering the memory controllers work. It dropped like 3-5 degrees so nothing major

Are you playing any warzone 2.0? Did test out the difference between stock xmp vs b die tune? I just found out about b-die tuning and its crazy to me that it took me this long to stumble on this!

With 4 sticks XMP does not work with the Patriot Viper, I am currently using them at 4133C16 which currently is good enough to keep me off DDR5 when comparing possible performance gains by this semi platform switch. Timings make a bigger difference in some games that the actually frequency of the RAM tons of videos about WZ 2.0 on the channels recent uploads

Yup think that may have been what my Corsair sticks were but I was having a hard time with the timings I think I settled when I was just getting started at 3800 MHz 15-20-20-39, it’s been minute. Biggest downside to this kit is XMP doesn’t boot 😂. So if you buy it with no intent to tune then you need to make sure you just have 1 kit not 2 for that to work because 4 DIMMS is manual labor lol

Aye!!! First make sure that your infinity fabric* is clocking to half of whatever speed you can hit. That part makes tuning RAM personal because your board, your sticks all make a difference and mileage may vary. Bout to spend $227 on a 32gb (2x16) kit of 3600mhz on a gskill b die kit and return the gskill kit I bought for basically half the price. I want to learn how to tweak things like this and I doubt I'll be able to do much with the hynix kit I got.

Yea from what I’ve seen and I’m no pro by any stretch the voltage tolerance is much greater so you can give 1.47 all day or 1.5 versus other kits were 1.45 is the top or even 1.4

Are there any games out there that can show scaling with RAM? I'll install the game you're playing to check it out. I play Halo Infinite and currently run 2x16GB 3800Mbps 14-14-34-34 @1.48v on my 12700k/3080Ti, and the FPS seems pretty much exactly the same from the previous bottom of the barrel 2400C14 kit I had that was running OC'd to 2x8GB 3000Mbps 16-16-16-36. In Aida64 I get around 50ns latency.

So Warzone in particular is a game where RAM Speed/Latency matters and when I was running into dips down into 130 FPS just using XMP, now my absolute lows are in the 170s and easily hover around 200 FPS mark. I don’t use AIDA64 to test latency just tighten and go into game - also don’t do any secondary timings which from my understanding have some good yields in addition to the primaries. Right now I’m 3733MHz 1:1 14-14-14-26-324 @1.47v

I’d have to check but I think so especially if you’re not going ham on settings. I used to get 170FPS 1440P with a 2080 Ti & 4000MHz CL18. Check out the vipers I posted and the bdie finder site. I tuned them down to CL14 3733MHz

Hello brother I found some ram from chinese company called Asgard they have a ram claimed to be b-die and it run as 3600mhz 14-15-15-35 for 120$ 8x2 I found some other ram Netac 3600mhz 16-18-18-38 8x2 for 77$ unknown die most likely Hynix Do you think the latter will cut it for FPS gains? I got a kit earlier from Netac for 72$ 16x2 Hynix unknown die, Managed to Oc it to 15-17-17-34 3333mhz

@@mohammedabuaziz7033 go to this site and put in the kits of RAM model numbers you found and if it is know to be a B Die kit should show up. benzhaomin.github.io/bdiefinder/ The second one is ok but if it were better you’d be able to get tighter timings which would get better FPS gains. On my 12900K I was using these vipers at 3733 14-14-14-28-274 at 1.48V and had no issues. Also have used configurations like 3800 14-15-15-30. It’s actually a long process but I’ll see how I can turn it into a video, will probably have to use my phone to record the bios screen. The RAM mentioned in the video has memory that comes from Samsung and allows for better timings to be assigned to it when testing fails you sometimes have to pull the motherboards battery for 10 minutes to reset and try a different set of timings. It isn’t for everyone for sure. I may just find a video that exists and share that but if I can think of an easy way to teach people then I’ll give it a go but they are gonna have to be willing to work through trial and error

Not in this video but I have done so in the last couple of weeks, FPS didn’t really improve but the stability when booting has increased. Never had issues before but there would be moments where it was slower than other times but now it’s a consistent boot
