Present video is beneficial for B.Ed Fourth Year Students who are majoring in English Language.The lecture is based on 'Literature for language development ' unit:-3 Exploring language through Literary Text:"The Face of Hunger"by Oswald Mbuyiseni Mtshali (1940-)Famous South African poet .
This poem exhibits the pathetic condition of African people, who have suffered from the problems of poverty, hunger and starvation.
In the poem, Oswald observes very miserable condition of a child is depicted.
The child is suffering from hunger and malnutrition, his rib can be counted, and his skin was pale and looked like doctor’s glove, so thin and skinny.
His stomach was like a den of lion roaring day and night.
Because of the hunger, his tongue like of a chameleon (a lizard like reptile).
The poem observes severely hungry child and depicts a clear picture of food deprivation in the world.
