welcome baby IDs ^_^ B.I aka as Kim Hanbin trained under YG entertainment since he was 13-14 years old. He was called the "next GD" and is a musical genius. He has been writing lyrics, rapping, singing, and producing music since then. He trained for years and went through two survival shows (WIN:WHO IS NEXT and MIX & MATCH) with his members before he finally debuted as the leader of iKON in 2015. He shouldered a lot of burden as their leader but he made each and every member better through his leadership and talent. I am very sure that iKON and B.I are still very close because they are like brothers who went through trauma together. His story is actually very sad because once iKON finally was doing really well after his song Love Scenario (won song of the year and B.I is the only kpop artist to win songwriter of the year) he was embroiled in a drug scandal from something in his past (he attempted to buy LSD and marijuana at a very low point in his life, he was 19 years old and depressed)... so he left iKON and YG to protect iKON in June 2019. and he did his due diligence and went to court and admitted he attempted to buy those drugs at the time and apologized profusely, but he tested negative for drug use. The court sentenced him to 4-year probation with a 3-year jail term if he violates the probation. In addition, he completed community service and drug treatment sessions. When he left iKON 2019, iKONics were heartbroken because, he is the heart of iKON because he produces and writes all of their songs (all bops and bangers btw). We thought we would never hear music from him again because the Korean public is brutal in ostracizing celebrities for wrongdoings (TV shows literally edited him out or blurred his face when he was shown on TV). And during this period of turbulence in his life 2019-2021, B.I was most likely at his bottom and very depressed. But, thank goodness, B.I returned to us and released his EP Midnight Blue in 2021 (all proceeds of which he donated to charity), then his first debut/comeback album WATERFALL, which spoke about his depression and difficulties during that time. He created his own music label, 131 label under 1OK company and is the executive director. Now, he is BLOSSOMING, freed from YG's chains.
